I understand why this fight is being made from an investment and marketing stand-point.
Angel and Ruben will possibly steal the show with their antics.
It's another MX vs PR match-up (although both are Americanos)
DSG is being given a respectable opponent, but one that appears to be towards the end, setting it up as a showcase for DSG.
Casuals will recognize Guerrero thanks to his fight w/Floyd.
Again, I can understand why this fight is being made, however they better support it with a respectable undercard. Otherwise making it be on FOX could potentially effect the return rate for casual viewers.
Khan can't be considered an active boxer right now, he doesn't seem to be interested in anyone other than Floyd and Pac. Thurman and Porter are fighting eachother. Broner is fighting at 140. Spence is a prospect and hasn't even beaten a C level guy yet. Brook is fighting Chaves.
So who's left for Danny?
Broner fought twice this year over 140. And only went back down to cherry pick a paper belt. He struggles with weight. Spence is all a sudden a prospect not ready for Garcia but fools been saying all year that Thurman is a coward for not fighting him? Spence is more then ready to step up in competition he's 25 the same age as Canelo yet look at the fighters Canelo is fighting and look at the fighters Spence is fighting. Difference is Golden Boy is putting him in tough fights and Haymon isn't do that with Garcia.
Haymon wants none of his fighters to face Brook after what he did to Porter so that's why Brook is looking for other fights but if Haymon wanted Khan or Danny to fight him the fight would happen. These excuses are weak Haymon controls who, where and when his fighters fight. He has better in house options and if he was willing to work with other rival promoters his guys could face Pacman, Bradley, Ali, ect. Danny finally officially moved to welterweight and fought feather fisted Paulie after coming off a devastating loss where people were asking him to retire and had lost 2 of his last 3 fights. Now he fighting Guerrero who is coming off a robbery where he was dropped. He should be on a 2 fight losing streak and 3 losses in his last 4 fights. We are learning nothing about Danny as a welterweight with fights against washed up non top 10 welterweights which Paulie and Guerrero are at this point. If you don't think Haymon has influence and power to get Danny better fights then these you are just delusional.
27 yrs old now, 100+ amateur bouts, over 30 pro bouts and has actually gone backwards on his career record.
Make this a 6 or 8 rounder and give Robert a chance because if he comes to the ring warmed up and ready to fight it would be a solid 6 rounder!
Robert is done and Danny needs to step to contenders if he thinks he's one! If not just be a fringe guy make another 600k and sneak out the back door!

No Doubt Danny is going backwards. Look where his career was after the Matthysee fight and look at him now. He is regressing. It all started the Herrera fight. His handlers got spooked after that fight refused a rematch and it's been nothing but bums like Salka, catchweights, and now fighting weak competition at 147. We were talking about Danny challenging the top p4p fighters like Floyd and Pacquiao just 2 years ago after the Matthysee fight. But instead he's now fighting faded fighters like Paulie and Guerrero. Think about that.
To launch a show you choose on of the most useless pointless insipid match ups possible. Total idiocy.
Pointless, but will provide good action where one of PBC's marquee fighters should provide thorough damage of the other. That should attract more casual younger viewers. Even if it was a fight of consequence like brook/bradley no one would know, because no one outside of boxing fans know who those guys are.
