Floyd sr told floyd jr that he was losing the fight with pacquiao and fighting scared to throw more punches, yet floyd jr didnt listen to a dam thing his father said, so what is floyd on about?

Even doing what he was doing, the fight wasn't close. Floyd didn't feel the need to press when what he was doing was still banking rounds. Sr. wanted him to leave 0 doubt, knowing more people wanted to see his son lose than win, whether it was a robbery or not.

News flash....Many fights the same way every fight and never adjusts mid fight

Well i've always said i don't think Cotto has improved under Roach, he had just been very well matched since the Trout loss and dined out on beating Sergio "Stephen Hawking" Martinez.

However i do think Roach did an excellent job with Pacquiao. Some people work well together and i think they do. Manny and Roach achieved a hell of a lot together. Took a few losses but so what, that's boxing.

I don't know about that. I'm in the camp of fans who thinks Roach is not only a complete ****-talking douche bag, but an extremely overrated trainer. Pac was going to be great under any coach. The dude was just a beast physically. It's not like Freddie, even after so many years, turned him into BHop or anything. If Freddie was so great, he should have been able to coach a top level athlete like Manny to not get outboxed by Morales, Marquez and Floyd (admittedly all HOFers). I'm not saying Pac was unskilled because he certainly wasn't, but his dominance over even great fighters was due largely to his physical superiority (speed, stamina). Roach got a complete gem that nobody could screw up and he's treated like the greatest trainer of all time.

Well back from Vegas.
Since I saw the fight live I didn't get to hear what Roach was saying. But what I did see was no adjustments. 2 factors I saw that caused this fight 2 be determined. 1st was Canelos size live man o man he was atleast 175 very very big. 2nd he was prepared for Cotto's left hook upstairs, its as if thats all they practiced blocking. I noticed it in some of his training videos.

On a side note the only thing Roach could have seen that could have given him confidence was that Cotto was really the more active fighter.

It sucks that my guy lost but I am in no way ashamed of his performance. I wish he would have adjusted to not being able to land that left hook up stairs, and I think it is part of the reason Canelo did not commit to the body more. My score live was 115-113 I will wait to watch the replay on Saturday to give better assessment.

In my eyes he is not a legendary trainer...every fighter he is known for training was already a good fighter or a champion before he got them, and under him they'd fight catchweights and guys after they got battered

Never guided someone to a title from scratch, every legendary trainer has guys they got in the amatuers or early in their career and guided them to the world rankings and then world titles.....Roach is a product of Eddie Futch and that's how he got a lot of his clientele, when he got Manny Pacquaio his popularity went through the roof but every known fighter he has was a good fighter before he got them

Look at Cotto's last 3 wins

Look at Manny's career past 130.....he beat a lot of fighters coming off of grueling fights whether they won or lost or ko losses, and catchweights

Exactly! Any decent coach would have accomplished the same thing or more, especially with the strategic matchmaking/catchweights that they employed.

I'm sorry, but a trainer who can't develop even ONE world champion from scratch on his own is nowhere near great.

Cotto-Roach is a good combination.

As much as I love Pedro Diaz, he wasn't a good fit for Cotto. They went 1-2 together, and the only win came against a way past his prime Margarito, and Cotto still got lit up in that fight. Not to mention Cotto suffered the worst loss of his career, imo, against Austin Trout while he was with Diaz.

Or that Canelo has gotten significantly better since then. Canelo had the privilege of going into that fight at just 22 years of age. He was very green going against the best. He is now just starting to hit his prime and would be a much more difficult challenge for Floyd at Middleweight.

This ***** has to stop. I just want anyone to tell me what fighter throughout the history of boxing is still considered green after 43 fights? Canelo had 40+ fights before he fought Floyd but yall trying to tell he me was green GTFOH!!!!
