Silly pr!ck wanted Cotto to win for his 2016 comeback for the middleweight belts . . . He hasn't got the balls to get in with Canelo again or GGG . . So this screwed up his plans
Mayweather would be wise to stay away GGG, just like Canelo plans to do! Besides, Canelo got beat so decisively no one wants to see the rematch. If Canelo did manage to win it would just prove that Mayweather got old......

freddie roach can't help cotto inside the ring. . cotto fought a good fight, but he was going up against a mexican tank, his punches had no effect.

I think the Cuban coach was good too. But like I said before, if Cotto can't hurt a fighter then it is a good possibilty he loses if the other guy has some skills. I knew Canelo would win but thought it would be by stoppage. I feel Canelo could have stopped him but he fought smart and respected Cotto.

I too was not all that impressed. Roaches plan seemed to be central around the jab.... he wanted his fighter not to let Canelo walk forward by breaking his momentum with the jab.

I think the plan should have been to walk Canelo into clever counters, and use lateral movement to get off the ropes....lull Canelo into a false sense of security by having Cotto use a meek approach then crank that hook on him...or maybe even a check hook. not try to expend energy trying to halt the movement of the bigger man.

What I outlined was Cotto's only hope of beating Canelo...

He was a boring genius in the ring but "The name of the game is kill or be killed" - Coming from Floyd??? That IS funny.

I will tell you why Roach is not legendary... dude could not teach Pacquiao anything new regarding the Marquez fights.

Well, i don't disagree with that, but he did take him from being a very raw fighter and improved him and they did achieve a lot still, more than most people.

I'm not a Pac fan but it sounds like you just wan't to discredit him for the sake of it, rather than talking straight

You can pick apart anyones career and play it down if you have an agenda to do so. He'll go down as one of the best of his era behind Floyd and i doubt he would have got there without Roach whichever way you look at it.

Pacquiao not being able to look good against all time great Marquez isn't a good enough reason to say that Roach isn't great. Bradley looked amazing against Marquez, and Pacquiao beat Bradley arguably twice. Styles make fights, and Marquez was just that guy that had Pacquiao's number in the styles department.

TL;DR Roach has a laundry list of fighters that he turned into legit world champions. To say he isn't legendary is being harsh, or being a hater.

"He's (meaning Roach) not a legendary trainer..." But Roger is? Name the fighters other than Floyd that Roger has done anything with really? Oh, ok...

That being said Floyd is right... Roach didn't do a good job in the corner with Cotto..he was telling he was winning and doing well etc..

Roach did a good job helping Cotto go 12 with Canelo and having a decent gameplan..but Canelo just kept coming and was able to take away Cotto's left hook...

Pacquiao won 2 of 4 with one 1 tie that Pac clearly won and would have won if not for a scoring issue So in other words Pac won 3 or 4 against Marquez..Roach is supposed to overcome a PED-cheat in Marquez' corner and all of sudden huge muscles and shocking KO power he's never had? Yes, Marquez looked ordinary against Marquez..did you forget the PED-testing involved in that fight which the Pac fight didn't have? random-blood testing?

Pac dominated Bradley twice and was robbed the first time..lost 5 rounds total in 2 fights by anyone objective..
