They are both great but I think GGG is better. He hits as hard or harder for his size and he is a slightly better boxer with a better chin. Kovalev has a good chin but GGG's chin seems to be granite.

        Kovalev.

More versatile fighter and better resume.

I don't rate Pascal Larry,he gases after 30 secs.I'll give Kovalev props for beating Hopkins, but he was 50 year old ffs lol

And Hopkins wasn't exactly firing on all cylinders was he?Beating Murat and Shumenov isn't exactly top tier level opponents. And not to mention Hopkins beating Cloud by headbuts.

Even if we accept that, there's no objective way to suggest GGG's opponents have been better than them.

I'm not sure who's better. To me, Kovalev displayed excellent boxing IQ when he took care of Hopkins. Not only did he prove himself younger and stronger (which were obvious), but he was rarely outsmarted by BHop. Not many fighters are able to say that.

Golovkin's aura of invincibility is still very strong. He's never been down, never been seriously hurt and very rarely lost a round.

So.. can someone find Boone and ask him?

fighters like boone are hugely important to boxing. huge.

i don't sub to ring magazine any longer, but i used to love seeing him get a "stingray award" every time he sparked out some dude who wasn't ready for the big time.

dude can f#cking punch, and he'll fight anybody, anywhere, and on short notice .

A good way to see who is the better fighter would have been if Ward had fought both of them. However Ward only wants bums for big bucks.

As for the topic I think GGG is slightly better but Kovalev is more proven and has real KO power.

I've seen multiple people mention that Kovalev has real/KO power, so I'll throw this out there:

When you pose this question to Boone, he states, matter-of-factly, “Honestly, he punches as hard as Kovalev in 16s [ounce gloves] as Kovalev’s punches in 10s. Honest to God.”
