Kovalev isn't a better fighter. GGG is far more skilled and a better boxer, and has an extensive and very good amateur background. GGG is also more lethal.

Wtf do amateur background have to do with pros? His resume is **** as a pro, eye test can say a lot when you fight $h1tty opposition your whole career facts are when lil g had chance to see how good he really is he balked at it while still mentioning to go up to 168 and fight lesser skilled guys

If Quillin is a bum then Ward has feasted on them his entire career with likes of Arthur Abraham, Carl Froch and Chad Dawson.

Quillin isn't anywhere near the level of Froch, Kessler or Dawson. Not even close, Quillin is 32 and hasn't managed a single win over a world champion, that is awful and given how easy it is to get a belt these days it is laughable.

Quillin probably isn't a bum but hasn't proven he is anything above average, Chavez Jr and Vera both managed to beat up Andy Lee.

That's because Golovkin wouldn't even move up to 168 to fight Ward. So no one expects him to actually have the stones to go to 175 for Kovalev or Stevenson.

Funny how Golovkin has to be the one to come to everyone else...he's gotta come to 155 for Canelo/Cotto...he's gotta come to 172 plus for Ward...because honestly if ward could make 168 that's where he'd be right now taking out the division again but he can't so he isn't so please stop saying 168 like that holds any weight. Pretty clearly my friend Golovkin has to come to everyone else because apparently that's all you folks will accept, he either has to come down or go up to fight the only names ya'll will give him credit for..there is a sweet irony here i'm seeing from Floyd fans now anchoring to Ward as the next hope, a man who can't make 168 anymore but would require jumping up two divisions in order to book a fight against.

Uh no...he had to come to 168 for Ward and he wasn't even willing to do that.

The biggest fight left for Ward at 168 was Golovkin. Team GGG rejected it so he moved up.

The other fights at 168 are either promotionally impossible (DeGale/Jack) or pointless (Abraham II).

And of course HBO wanted Ward as far away from Golovkin as possible so they made it a stipulation in his deal that he move up to 175 and promise to fight Kovalev.
