Cotto is obviously on that cash out tour mode, and Canelo will be champion if he wins, so really who gives a ****.

step aside deals can often come down to the wire and you're paying the guy to not block the sanction, a sanction which isn't even taking place in this instance. none of us know if cotto owes the money or not.

Cotto should pay the step-aside fees if he had agreed to. He should not try to stiff another boxer, period. He's making more money than he ever thought he would need.
As far as the WBC goes, he should at least send them that $125k check, belt or not. He used the WBC belt to good effect: getting the lion's share of the purse and other advantages (can include gloves, ring size, drug testing, weight stipulations, who enters the ring first, side advantage in fight posters, and a lot more.).
I'm not saying the above is solely because of the WBC belt (I don't give a **** about belts or their organizations), but I have no doubt that it somehow enhanced his position at the negotiating table. Cotto is a veteran and popular on his own too.
All I can say is: Man up, Cotto. Karma can be a *****!
War Canelo!

[I don't have a dog in this triangle affair. The only boxer I like because of his fighting style is Canelo. He has special effects. Fun to watch him display his skills and guts, before he gasses!]
Saturday will be fun. I don't really care who wins.
Though if this goes to court, I'm sure that will be the outcome whether Miguel wants to or not.

I am a fan of GGG and Canelo but I can understand Cotto not paying over a million bucks. The Canelo fight is just as big without Cotto being the WBC champ. If he keeps that money he will still make just as much money for the Canelo fight + over a million dollars he didn't pay in sanction fees and step a side money. If he signed an agreement to pay GGG $800000.00 to step aside he could lose a law suit so it should get interesting..

Seriously I could care less if GGG has "ALL THE BELTS" or whatever, also could care less if Cotto is defending a WBC belt on top of his lineal championship. He's still the lineal champ.
