Agreed with pretty much everything you said, but I think more than K2 bribing the WBC, is HBO trying to cash on GGG.

They have put a lot of effort, time and $$$ into building GGG, don't know how many fight he's being in HBO already. When you see the type of opponents he has faced, and the type of opponents they're keeping him away from, it's pretty clear. Just listen to Max Kellerman when calling his fights and you can notice the agenda behind it. But this is nothing new, it happens all the time. The thing is that GGG is 34 yrs old, hardly speak the language, the MW is crazy weak w/ no big names other than, you guessed it, Cotto and Canelo. Also, you add GGG's 1st PPV disaster and now you have Ken Hershman being the EX-President of HBO Sports. Funny new ppl in the sport arguing they cashing on GGG, he sold out MSG...lol...the real money is in PPV sales, this is why Floyd, Manny and ODH had some much power. Cotto has sold out MSG many times and have a country behind him and can't compare w/ the Floys, ODH or Manny.

Now, out of the options (Cotto or Canelo) Canelo is the most attractive, young, the biggest following in the sport, but Canelo said not yet, then Cotto was like you'll need to pay me huge amount of $$$ if you want me to fight him. So, now the best option is Canelo...win the belt, pressure GGG @ 155, if not drop it and let GGG be the champ, and pray for Froch or Chavez Jr fights him....It's an agenda of HBO and WBC is part of it!

Either way, something is up, they should not even consider Golovkin.

Whether Cotto wants to fight Golovkin is completely irrelevant IMHO, it's what the WBC is doing and has been doing that deserves scrutiny. Why the hell is Cotto paying step aside money to a champion who shouldn't even be ranked by the WBC? This is a ****ing racket, Golokin's team gets $800,000 for literally nothing, its open, and apparently completely legal extortion.

When people say that titles don't mean **** in this era, I agree with them. Too many title belts, too many champions, and too many people wanting to make a buck at the expense of the people taking the risk. In my book that makes you a coward.....

IF you think GGG 'bribed' the WBC then presumably you agree that Cotto 'super-bribed' the WBC.

GGG at least fought someone (Rubio) to win that position as mandatory. And btw mandatory is mandatory - 'immediate' mandatory is meaningless.

Cotto had absolutely NO ranking at MW that justified him leaping over every ranked MW and fighting Martinez. That was just him using his audience power to use $ to get ahead of other fighters (not just GGG) who had earned their rankings and opportunity to fight for the title.

Because he already agreed to pay Golovkin/K2 $800k for the step-aside deal they negotiated with Golovkin in order for the Canelo fight to be a title fight in the first place. That's what the whole fuss is about here and that's why K2 is taking legal action. He went back on his deal.
