Would love to see him replace Hershman as head of HBO Sports.

Floyd has a nice stable of fighters but he needs Schaefer to properly promote the fights. Ellerbe isn't a businessman. He's a former lackey that got where he's at by being loyal to Floyd and giving the best chest rubs in the business.

Roc Nation could use him. Itskowitch has over-paid for Cotto, Rigo, and Ward. Ward/Rigo may be 1 or 2 p4p but they have no drawing power. Ward does good at home I will give him that. But Rigo will always have to go to his challengers venue because he can't draw.

I don't care what people think about Schaefer and Oscar, they don't know the whole story. All I know is that Schaefer built Golden Boy from the ground up into the #1 Promoter in the business. He got that output deal with HBO and Showtime. Exclusive deal with Barclay's. Investment from BIG and AEG which owns venues such as stub hub and O2 arena in London. Anybody will be better off with Schaefer

And all the investors left when Schaefer left. The one thing that hurt Golden Boy more than Haymon buying out his fighters is the brain trust that left with Schaefer. Now you have Hopkins and De La Hoya running the business. Great boxers but neither has a proven track record in business.

Schaefer's next gig will be working with Mayweather or working with Haymon. Why would HBO hire him? They had a great year and have 9 of the 10 top 10 P4P fighters all locked up and now the only fighter they don't have signed Rigo is fighting on HBO this weekend and more then likely Roc Nation that has a relationship with HBO will get him a deal with HBO next. Remember why HBO cut ties with Schaefer and Haymon in the first place. People keep saying it was just Haymon but it was Golden Boy too because of Schaefer. Once Schaefer was forced out and Oscar was in control HBO welcomed Golden Boy back. So it makes no sense to put that snake who was one of the main guys responsible for the rift in charge.

Why would Roc Nation hire Schaefer when Haymon has beef with Jay-Z and refuses to work with him? No shot Schaefer out of loyalty to Haymon goes to Roc Nation. Haymon has fighters vacating belts and turning down career paydays just to avoid allowing them to fight on a Roc Nation card.

Golden Boy's early success had nothing to do with Schaefer. It was Oscar's name and power in the sport at the time that made them a success overnight. The early superstar fighters signed because of Oscar the early HBO tv deals were because of HBO wanting to keep Oscar so they gave his company a huge platform early on for his fighters. The huge influx of latino fighters that signed to Golden Boy INCLUDING Canelo signed because they were fans of Oscar. You want to give Schaefer credit for the last few years and TV deals and working with Haymon ok. But the early years and how Golden Boy overnight was so successful was because of Oscar's name and involvement. You could of literally had anyone running the company at that time and it was going to be a hit. Fighters like Hopkins, Mosley, Morales, ect all signed because of Oscar not Schaefer.

Unless Haymon owes Schaefer blood money for helping him steal away Oscar's fighters why does Haymon need him? And no fighters are singing Schaefer's praise other then Mayweather. So his options are work for Mayweather Promotions or work for Haymon. He needed him years ago to pry away Golden Boy signed fighters. But why does Haymon need Schaefer now?

Schaefer was a master of getting sponsers/endorsement deals for GBP. And investors. Clearly PBC could use some help with sponsors/endorsement deals. And if PBC doesn't slow down on the money being spent they might need some new investors in the near future.

Schaefer would be a great asset to PBC & honestly I just think Schaefer is already on board with Haymon's plan (they tried to start it via a GBP buyout I think its fair to say). And lets be real PBC is never gonna have a great public face when that face is peeking out behind a curtain. They need some sort of accessible front man who speaks to the media & can be a "master promoter" of sorts for the PBC entity.
