To all you confused posters claiming GGG's suddenly all about the money...he and K2 have been consistent that he will move from MW for big money/exposure fights. Cotto's no longer Golovkin's mandatory so the pressure to fight at 160 is gone. But Cotto would still be a big fight and GGG's not said at this point whether or not he'd come down for him. Where's the inconsistency there? As for unification, GGG will either be handed the WBC belt or he'll be fighting for it in the near future. Sounds like the unification plan to me.

GGG's handled Cotto's BS over the last year and a half with a whole lot of class and integrity. Maybe he will decide to offer a fight to Cotto at a catchweight now, so they can work it out in the ring.

Cotto had one voluntary defense which he took. Nothing wrong with that.

Cotto offer to pay the WBC 125K on top of the 800K for a total of 925K and the WBC as the crocks they are wanted 300K and attempt to pressure Cotto to pay or be stripped.

King Cotto let them know who the true boss is: Yeap you got it Cotto is!

So, if 925K is not enough for the WBC then #***theWBC !

Cotto fought his voluntary (Geale) almost exactly ONE YEAR after he beat Martinez for the title. Is that a standard time frame for a champ to get his voluntary out of the way? Seems a bit long to me.

So this is all about $175K? Does Miguel really need that money? Or is it about principle? Because if it is...

That $800K is supposed to go to GGG who allowed Cotto to hold on to the belt and masquerade as the MW champ for the past year. And in that time, Cotto used it to negotiate and promote the Canelo fight. Now that he's used the belt and obviously had no intention of defending it against GGG should he beat Canelo, he's suddenly got principles because he's standing up to the WBC? Doesn't matter what you think of the WBC. You're rooting for a pretender and a con man. I think GGG and his team knew all along that this could happen and that's why he doesn't seem too upset about it. They let him play his game to get to the Canelo fight hoping Canelo takes the belt from him. It's the only chance GGG would have to fight for the belt and the lineal title.

You think he's the first fighter to pay a sanctioning fee in addition to step aside money? This is nothing but a convenient excuse. What's best for his family?...as if a couple hundred K are going to make or break him.

Right?! Which is it? If he wants these fights so bad, he's going to have to make sacrifices in weight. No way around it. He wouldn't be the A-side in either of these bouts.

Maybe from other people. I don't think he's a coward. If he doesn't want to fight GGG fine. No disrespect. Just don't make your mandatory, Golovkin, wait on the sidelines for a year and a half while you use the belt to negotiate and promote a PPV for the MW title at 155. That's disgraceful. I don't hate him, but I am disappointed in him. And I don't see how anyone can support what he's done as "MW" champ.

It will be just sweeter when Karma comes back to him and he is sitting in his corner with a bloodied face asking Freddie to stop the fight.

Coward Cotto needs to leave the sport, he is a shame.

Been saying for over a year already, if Lee defeats Saunders, it's going to be Cotto vs Lee for the Middleweight title. People forget, before Cotto fought Geale, they were negotiating with Lee for a unification bout. All roads point to this fight.

So GGG hasn't fought anyone, then he goes after a name, and you still *****

Cotto is a scared little biitch.

However, you people are hypocrites. GGG has no names, but he goes after names and you all still *****.

We have so many butt hurt fans of Canelo, Cotto, Ward that it's absolutely funny.

Cotto four Geale because his PPV were awesome right.

You know damn well why Cotto wants nothing from GGG, because his pink ass would get dropped faster than a hot plate.

                    He wants big fights sure.

                    GGG is 33 until April.

Cotto still has a title. If he wins this fight, he'll have the lineal until he leaves MW or etc.

So until that happens, sure, why not want the fight.

No longer would be unification fight.

I'm sure Cotto wants none of lee either. He'd get crushed.
