It could have something to do with Cotto running around calling himself MW champ, MW lineal champ, and the fact Cotto is fighting the similar sized Canelo.

Dont get it twisted my ninjaaa.....It was as simple as TripleGay moving up to SUPERMIDDLEWEIGHT (just 8 pounds north) when WARD called him out. TripleGay didnt have to move to LHW as you mentioned.


I dont care about Canelo BUT he should also face the winner at a Catchweight just a few pounds below but TripleGay also refuses to do that... How can I respect that?? Impossible... not yet...

There's nothing wrong with this, a Cotto fight is lucrative and any one would want it.... belt or no belt. GGG wants to get paid like every other boxer. It's all about risk vs reward. Legacy will always take a backseat to that especially today when boxing is a business first and foremost.

It's just his a$$hat fans on the Internet that think he's on that unifying, legacy only bs and try to act like he's a cyborg from another planet that doesn't care or understand the concept or value of money.

The last time Ward fought 168 was November of 2013. He fought 172 two months before he emailed contract offer to GGG. That makes him a LHW.

And why should he fight a MW champ who Rehydrates higher than him at a CW.

There is no reason Canelo should get shot at unifying 3 MW belts without fighting 160.

So would you be fine with GGG winning 3 SMW belts at a CW of 161? I wouldn't.
