Now De La Hoya has been all over the map with his Canelo comments, but Cotto got handed a chance to be MW champ.

He shouldn't of even got the shot in first place.

    Now he wants to cry.

He can be champ of his own house.

    Wow!

He was never a legit MW champ, everyone who knows **** about boxing knows this guy never fought at 160
All over the place and inaccurate with your view point, per usual. If you would have listened to the interview instead of picturing GGG naked, you would have heard that before November, before Cotto even started camp, they had already told the WBC how much money they were willing to pay. Sulaiman purposely waited for the week of the fight in an attempt to extort an additional 800k from Cotto, in hopes that Cotto would panic and pay. Now on to the other fact, WBC allowed Martinez vs. Cotto for the WBC as a favor to Martinez not Cotto. They allowed Martinez to select Cotto as a voluntary, before fighting Rubio, who was at that time the mandatory. Martinez tried to cherry pick his biggest pay day, which backfired. The fight was contested at an agreed upon catch weight of 159lbs, and everyone who knows schit about boxing, knows 159 lbs is a middleweight bout.

Now my opinion on the matter is Cotto should pay the fees, if not in full, there should have been a negotiation. Canelo should also be required to pay in to the step aside fee, as he is the reason for GGG having to step aside. Sulaiman tried to pull a fast one, and he got burned, now WBC may be 800k in the hole. In the end all parties get what they deserve. Cotto gets stripped, Sulaiman gets exposed and burned, Canelo gets an empty title that he will vacate, and GGG looses the biggest pay day and popularity boost of his career. Oh yeah, and HBO gets a giant middle finger from all parties involved.

1.1 million fee is a no brainer, I rather save that money just to put my kids in college after a hard fight.....

Oscar contradicting himself, he said Canelo is not ready for 160 MAYBE IN A FEW YEARS AND CANELO NEEDS MARINATING while at the same time saying "ITS EVERY KIDS DREAM (His kid's (Canelo) dream is to fight for the MW championship) and calling it a disgrace....

WBC being a MEXICAN organization doesnt help their credibility... (very biased)

Cotto still a legend champion in 4 diff weight divisions!!!

Stop defending your man you absolute plumb. What Cotto has done is shameful!

1.1 million isn't the sanctioning fee you dopey ****. 800k is for Golovkin to step aside so this fight could even happen. Cotto is a STRAIGHT PUNK.

Career is over legacy in tatters!

You were proven to be a hater in this interview after you were jizzzing that he paid GGG and was a dumb ass for paying him.

GGG isn't watching anything for free and gets to pay a couple thousand to sit and watch a future HOF boxer.

I want to see all the dumb asses that thought Cotto would have paid 800k before the fight would take place just because.

Calling out the WBC is classic, shows how smart of a businessman Cotto is.
            Pfffft, un ****ing believable.

Out right shameful by Cotto. You can spin it all you want, Cotto dropped that belt and DUCKED. Fact!

Okay from this video it sounds like Cotto agrees & understands he owes $800k to GGG. If he pays GGG his money fair enough with this situation. I could give a f#ck if Cotto & the WBC got some dispute over some money. The titles mean less then they ever have & the name brand fighters who don't need a title to sell their fight know this & are taking advantage of it more & more. I can support that.

IM NOT IN FAVOR OR AGAINST WHAT COTTO DID, HOWEVER THE WBC DID HELP COTTO GET A TITLE SHOT AT CRIPPLED MARTINEZ, COTTO WENT TO MEXICO CITY TO BE HONORED AND GET ALL THE GLORY FROM THIS ORGANIZATION LIKE IF HE WAS PART OF IT. WBC, WBO, IBF ALL OF THEM ARE THIEVES WE ALL KNOW THAT! BUT WHY ARE YOU TAGGING ALONG ALL THESE ORGANIZATIONS FOR YOUR BENEFIT AND THEN YOU LOOK LIKE THE CORRUPTED ONE, WHEN YOU DONT WANT TO PAY THE % THEY REQUIRED? WE ALL KNOW THAT ITS NOT FOR FREE THAT THEY ARE GOING TO GIVE YOU THE BELT AND MAKE YOU A SPECIAL CHAMPION NOT TO DEFEND THE TITLE AGAINS THE REAL CHAMP!

sO COTTO YOU DID GET BENEFIT FROM THE WBC, AND NOW YOU ARE EXACTLEY THE SAME WAY AS THEM. CORRUPTED AND AFRAID OF THE REAL CHAMP GGG. WE ALL KNOW THAT CANELO WILL NOT FIGHT GGG, BUT I WAS HOPEFUL THAT YOU WERE THE ONE TO STEP UP TO THE BASE, BUT I SEE THAT YOU ARE AS COWARED AS THE NEXT GUY!
