All over the place and inaccurate with your view point, per usual. If you would have listened to the interview instead of picturing GGG naked, you would have heard that before November, before Cotto even started camp, they had already told the WBC how much money they were willing to pay. Sulaiman purposely waited for the week of the fight in an attempt to extort an additional 800k from Cotto, in hopes that Cotto would panic and pay. Now on to the other fact, WBC allowed Martinez vs. Cotto for the WBC as a favor to Martinez not Cotto. They allowed Martinez to select Cotto as a voluntary, before fighting Rubio, who was at that time the mandatory. Martinez tried to cherry pick his biggest pay day, which backfired. The fight was contested at an agreed upon catch weight of 159lbs, and everyone who knows schit about boxing, knows 159 lbs is a middleweight bout.
Now my opinion on the matter is Cotto should pay the fees, if not in full, there should have been a negotiation. Canelo should also be required to pay in to the step aside fee, as he is the reason for GGG having to step aside. Sulaiman tried to pull a fast one, and he got burned, now WBC may be 800k in the hole. In the end all parties get what they deserve. Cotto gets stripped, Sulaiman gets exposed and burned, Canelo gets an empty title that he will vacate, and GGG looses the biggest pay day and popularity boost of his career. Oh yeah, and HBO gets a giant middle finger from all parties involved.

So why does he keep using the 1.1mil figure when questioned then?
From my understanding, that money would go to WBC and they would give that 800k to GGG for stepping aside. They did it with Rubio for the Cotto-Martinez fight.
This is the state of boxing unfortunately. Everyone wants to do it w a certain formula (fight for most money with minimal risk). I don't blame him for not wanting to pay the money. But there are some fighters that have pride in their championship belts. Cotto feels his brand is larger than the belt. To bad mouth him for that decision is a strange opinion. A million dollars is a lot of money. If he led on the WBC or not that he would pay the sanctioning fees and/or step aside money to GGG is not a huge deal. The fight is still happening and if you've been discrediting Cotto has a middleweight champion, you should be pleased that he was stripped, so why *****?
Cotto say he was about to pay GGG the 800k but the WBC wanted 300k in sactioning fees witch Cotto didn't think was right, so he tried to negotiate with the WBC and offer 125k but they didn't want to.
With the huge percentage Cotto is getting it just makes me think he is more and more greedy, 1.1million dollars out of how much will you be earning?
20-30?
He sure as hell is getting a great payday after this fight is over, how can any of you even defend that do you just roll in several millions ever couple of months...
My god, the poor defending the rich
