I don't blame Cotto...his team already paid a portion of $800k to GGG as step-aside money, now the WBC wants $300k in sanctioning fee? WBC wouldn't even negotiate lowering the fee. That means that they (WBC) are not confident in Cotto continuing to defend the belt. So they strip him for "non-compliance"

2. Why pay the sanctioning fee when he will be stripped after anyways.


The surprising thing is Canelo wanting to fight for the title when he says he's not a middleweight and has no plans on moving up.
