He's already getting Pavlik esque attention with his huge local blue collar following, if he keeps winning who's to say he couldnt be a star?

To be really big though he needs some more famous opponents, if he could beat manny impressively that would be a great start.

Who else do HBO have around that weightclass?

He's a great boxer and has a strong fan base within the boxing community and a Pac win will go a long way but, and i hate to say it, at this stage beating Pacquiao isn't going to mean much in the scheme of things.

Oscar was already in bad shape when manny beat him, but it still increased manny's visibility.

When I say star I mean someone mainstream American media follows. It's a very strict definition

I agree. A win over pacquiao will increase his stock, but hbo doesn't have the guys to keep his stock rising.

It's some good fights for him, just not big fights.

Hbo can offer postol, ali, vargas, provo, brook, chaves,Matthysse,Her rera. Maybe Veredjo in 3 yrs

Decent fights, but nothing that will take bud to the top of the sport.

He needs those danny garcia, Adrien broner, amir khan type of fights to really become the face of boxing. But all these dudes are haymon. So no fight

Idk that Crawford is capable of being a mainstream appeal star whatever he does. I mean he'll be a star in Omaha or w/e, but beyond that I think he's got lil to interest fans. He's got skills, but you need more than just skills it seems like these days. You just don't take star appeal by beating a star. Well it does happen, but its not a absolute thing.

Plus with boxing being a strongly racially biased sport among fans & black boxing fans being at a all time low since I've been watching boxing I think it'll be hard to push black stars who aren't exceptional (Crawford is talented for sure, but idk if he's Mayweather or Manny level exceptional), don't have a gimmick or personality (its no surprise Bradley & Crawford are cool, they both boring as f#ck) or have an entertaining style (idk that I'm sold on Crawford having a entertaining style, he seems to be as exciting as his opponent, I do give him credit here in going for KO's all night when others might just coast, but idk that thats going to do the job).
