Yep, I believe so. Michelle Waterson is a karate black belt, also doing fairly well so far in MMA. Was briefly atomweight champion in Invicta, which goes up to 105 and is now competing at strawweight (115 in MMA).

Holm was the best female welterweight boxer EVER, and is currently the #1 female MMA bantamweight on the planet.

The Rhonda vs Holly fight lasted 2 rounds. The excitement value of that fight Is greater than or equal to all of Floyd's fight in his career in just that one single fight alone lmao

Rousey also had a shoulder injury that she reinjured in the middle of the fight. So really between peds for holly and her shoulder injury, its like this loss never happened.

Although there are no doubt pro boxers with no training in mama who can compete in that environment and be victorious, their chances will be much better with mma training.

Paticularly, training in takedown defenses and arm and leg bar neutralizing will certainly help if they choose to learn nothing else.

But, yeah. Holly kept her feet moving and fought a smart, cautious, fight.

Ronda was just going for the kill with no defense and very likely gunning for a trademark submission win. She didn't respect Holly's stand up game.
