My question would be why is this surprising to anyone.

Canelo is GBP right now and if he beats Cotto he will essentially be minted, maybe eventually they get around to Golovkin but 1 fight which will turn into 2 to cash in on that win, then maybe Golovkin but that is a big maybe depending on what the first two fights are and it could go further.
