I want this fight to happen but i think if it did then it would be an even easier night for GGG than his last few opponents... unfortunately best name on a resume doesn't equate to best fight... or biggest challenge.
Watch his fights, the evidence is there. When a guys hits and moves, Golovkin either doesn't throw or, when he does, most of the time it's a big swing and a miss. He was able to hit Lemieux at angles but that's because Lemieux has the mobility of a refuse canister. Most of his opponents have had poor movement but the bits in which they have cut angles on him, he was at a loss.

Canelo trained for that sort of thing and you can see that we was reaching, and tagging, Lara when he cut angles to both attack and to escape. Not every time, but enough to win. I've never see that specific ability from Genady. Not that he couldn't develop it. Fortunately for Golovkin, he's good at cutting off the ring so he mitigates the problem by keeping guys in front of him. Lara is susceptible to that in middle rounds when his legs slow, hence why I think Genady wins.

Lara would be the best fighter Gi Gi has ever fought. Also willing to meet Golovkin at 160.

I would love to see this fight! I think Lara would give GGG real problems, and if GGG would win, he would be a legit candidate for #1 P4P.

from my observation, GGG fights in infrared! when he fought Monroe everytime Monroe back pedaled or tried to get slick, he would get pasted, but when he fought back he had more success, same with Curtis Stevens, you have to somehow out work GGG, back him up - I want to see Lara fight him, but my eyes tell me Lara's style might be taylor made ! No one has cut the ring off on Lara, and Lara does not perform well under pressure - GGG performs better when he is the hunter - I want to see him become the hunted or at least need to make an adjustment or 2 in a fight..

Golovkin would increase pursuit in the middle rounds, landing and wearing down Lara. In the later rounds, Golovkin would possibly drop or KO a tiring and gunshy Lara. If not, he would likely take a decision based on power landed in mid-to-late rounds.

It's entirely possible that Lara would be able to evade and work angles on Golovkin all night though as Genady is not fast and does not deal with speed or angles well (hence, his MO is to walk a guy down and throw combos when the target is stationary, just like Canelo). Intriguing match that heavily favors Golovkin, but is better than any of the prospective fights at 160 Golovkin is going to be having in the next year.

GGG's almost always in position to hit his opponent. Seems to have excellent timing and counterpunching skills, too. Great at controlling distance. Can throw punches from all angles with power or without as a probe or to set up another shot. I don't recall anyone frustrating Golovkin with angles and movement. Maybe Geale for a few moments, but he wasted a ton of energy until he was quickly timed after a couple of rounds and K'dTFO. I'm curious if you can point to some other examples. Maybe we have a different interpretation.

I think people get a little too excited over the pretty limited success guys have had against GGG. Conceding that he's not fought an A level guy yet, I'd be curious if someone were to take a poll of what rounds from any of GGG's fights going back to Proksa people on this forum think Golovkin actually lost or showed weakness in. It would be interesting to then take the top 12 rounds and cut them together to see if you could create a composite fight where GGG would lose the decision.

So does this mean Lara won't make the price too high

Because HBO isn't gonna pay Lara a bunch of money if the fight can't generate decent PPV sales.

And all you haters have been claiming for months that GGG can't do it.

So the only way this fight happens is if Lara will fight for less.

If he will, I bet GGG will take it.

But not before the Canelo fight or stripping of Canelo's balls.

Also, what are your excuse gonna be when it plays out like we know.

Lara will come in to try and fight, taste a few jabs and a shot, and then spend the next 6-8 rounds trying to pot shot and run, while not getting any rounds.

                Then boom, goodnight.

Then Lara becomes a can and GGG will be too large for MW.

Oddly, Golovkin fans have been freaked out but the ideal of Lara. Why? Good name, better than anyone he's fought. Would bring Golovkin more credibility. I don't think Golovkin fans think he can beat Lara though. Which is a shame because I do.
No body freaks out about Lara. It's always been about why Lara deserves to call out big time fighters and land them every time, especially sense GGG has been chasing that same fighter for a long time.

Lara isn't and will never be a real threat to GGG.

Anyone who thinks so, they are deluding themselves.

I'm mean, I think GGG beats Ward, WTF is Lara.

                GGG versus Andrade

All three would be better fights. Andrade only because he will trade with GGG, not become a victim waiting to happen.

For one, Canelo will likely be the guy to beat in the MW division in terms of the lineal championship and the WBC belt.

Canelo brings a lot more to the table in terms of skill and exposure.

And Canelo beat Lara, so of course fighting Canelo's leftovers would not be as ideal as fighting Canelo himself.

Angulo got to him, Canelo turned him into a marathon runner and can't cut off the ring and beat him...but Golovkin wouldn't...this site is funny as hell.

Sure Monroe had more success landing on the inside but he was also taking a shot for every one he was dishing out. When you're at a huge power disadvantage, you're going to come out on the wrong end of it. Whether you believe GGG allowed him to or not, you have to question why if he was having so much success did he get KO'd. Why not just keep imposing you're gameplan on GGG by trading with him on the inside? Who, in all of GGG's fights, has benefitted from this strategy? Murray? Ouma? What I see is Golovkin controlling every single minute of every round of every fight he's been in. You can say Stevens, Rosado, Murray, Monroe, etc.. were tagging him, but they are nothing more than isolated moments in rounds that GGG actually wins. They have a few seconds of success, the crowd oohs and aahs, then they get pasted and GGG goes back to work. So far it looks like GGG has come into each fight with a solid gameplan and executed it perfectly.

The key question with Lara is, how the heck is he going to control the fight? I agree that I don't think Lara's the one who's going to force GGG to a plan B. He will run like he did against Canelo, only GGG won't be caught out of position. If GGG is patient and doesn't go headhunting, he will probe and likely miss with a few shots early. But once he starts to time Lara and chop his body down. Lara will go into survival mode and the fight will be over.

Its such a shame to say (with all the hype) that Lara could be the best name on TripleGay's resume...... Does that tells you something???
