You have to smother him, try to push him back and outwork him. Beating him by using your feat would be extremely difficult.
You have to get to close range first and get hit doing so unless you have amazing foot speed - if a MW gets hit by Golovkin they feel it and become hesitant.

Try to push him back and outwork him >> Ward could probably do this but yesterday he was insinuating he doesn't like to be hit, and he will be when and if he faces punchers like Golovkin and Kovalev.

To beat Golovkin you need at least his skill set, be able to take his punches and hit nearly as hard as him or preferably harder. I don't see anyone on the horizon who can do that unless Canelo is twice as good as I currently think he is. De Gale might have it in him too.

If Cotto wins who does he fight next? If Canelo wins who does he fight next? He's so starved for fights that the Bradley fight might become a reality. A fight that has no business being made. After/If Ward fights Kovalev who does either fight next? Kovalev is so starved for opponents we're getting a rematch that shouldn't be happening. How is Loma gonna become a star if he can't fight the top names in his division? Boxers become stars by beating top names. Haymon has all the names in their top boxers division.
Didn't I read somewhere about 2 weeks ago that HBO has 9 of the P4P top ten? That seems like a good position to be in, no?

Staying in the pocket with Golovkin will take some real steel.
Ouma was a good fighter but definitely not top level, if he can do it, so can others. If he was closer to his prime and clinched every now and then, he would've gone the distance on that particular night.

I didn't say it would be easy to do it, but it's the best way to beat him imo.

You need to look into Golovkin's circumstances just before the Ouma fight. Similar to the Rosado fight. People constantly bring up these 2 fights without knowledge. It's been brought up many times.

Angulo is a C class fighter. If these fight gets made I assure you Lara gets stopped within 10 rounds. If you apply pressure, and cut the ring on (2 things that GGG excels at) Lara will fold. Add to that GGG's great jab and body work, I bet anything Lara doesn't see the final belt...its a mismatch.

HBO has proven this year that they have no problem airing mismatches, the problem is they don't want to pay for those mismatches. They even made the viewers pay for a PPV mismatch. Loeffler said the only way the fight could happen was PPV. But looking at the purses from Bradley/Rios/Loma they matched GGG/Lemiuex/Gonzalez.
There is some truth to the first part of this regarding Haymon working with HBO, but where's the $$$ coming from to pay for PBC fights?...The Haymon Hedge Fund that's where. Same way Ward makes $2 mil a tune up. You think RocN made money on the Paul Smith fight? HBO had to pay Lemieux well so the card had to be PPV otherwise they wouldn't have been able to make the fight. DLH cashed out. Hopefully, Lemieux can regroup, work on his game, and come back a better boxer. HBO has to be much more fiscally responsible because they don't have the piles of speculative cash the others do. Purses don't mean anything without considering where the money's coming from and whether or not the card made a profit or took a loss.

Slept in the airport for 2 days, then for those watching the live stream there was a 15 minute delay after Ouma got into the ring and Golovkin was just standing there waiting to do his ring walk while Ouma was in the ring warming up.

Because he has nothing to lose, I have seen it many atime. But once they get to that position or just close enough they too start the "He needs to get his PPV numbers up" "He isn't big enough" etc see Paul Williams and GGG as perfect examples.
