Do you really think if he beat Cotto/Canelo that anyone would want to see him fight Andy Lee or Billy-Joe Saunders? What a horrible damp squib that would be.

People would want to see him move up and get challenged against a top fighter like Ward and it would be a much bigger fight.

        @ "career goals".

The career goals of a fighter are to take the biggest fights available and after the Cotto-Canelo winner, there are no big fights left at 160. It's not just me that wouldn't approve. It would be universally laughable to go from that to Lee or Saunders.

And don't tell me he wouldn't drop his "career goals" like a sack of **** if someone like Froch came calling. Child please....

he has consistently claimed for YEARS that one of his major goals is to unify 160. If you know that to be untrue, please provide a source. (I searched myself, but could find nothing to dispute his claim)

He also said he'd move up to 168 for a bigger fight. And there'd be none bigger than Ward but you'd be content with him wallowing in mediocrity against the likes of Lee/Saunders.

So I'm guessing he'd turn down Froch for Lee/Saunders, right?

If people went as hard at those Who refuse to fight GGG, as the man himself

If people went as hard at those Who refuse to fight GGG, as the man himself, then we'd see him tested at MW, tested at 168, and then probably tested by Ward.

GGG is the only one who people seem to think should jump straight to his ultimate test.

GGG beats Ward now, no one in MW or 168 fights him. Why would he deny himself all those possible fights.

Hell even Ward wants to build up Kovalev fight.

In these days of Boxing politics, sometimes you have to use other measures.

There are reasons no one wants to face GGG right now. Not even Ward, he turned him down, and wanted a late 2016 fight.

I guess all those guys are scared of a hype job.

And by the way, in your resume you forgot to mention that GGG is scared of a Ward fight at 168.
P4P isn't based solely off of who you fight. If so, Ward wouldn't be on the list. 4 years and no one.

It's often based off of perceived skill.

Granted, in GGG's case he gets credit for who won't fight him.

It's good, because all the so called names could do to keep better talent down is refuse to fight.

But GGG is supposed to jump straight to a LMW (November 2013 was his last SMW fight). And while doing so, forgo any plans he has at his natural weight of 160.

The haters think Ward is the guy to beat him, but then say he is hyped. Two opposing statements if there ever was any.

he entertained the Froch / Chavez fights when he was unable to land any unification fights. I do not know if he would actually abandon his unification goal, now that it is actually within reach, for a 168 fight against Ward, Froch, or anyone.

My guess is that he would try and land the Lee-Saunders winner first, and if unable, THEN he might take one of those 168 fights. But thats just my guess, because he has not been presented with that choice so nobody knows for sure exactly what he might do in that situation.........

Yes I'm sure he'd turn down a Carl Froch fight for Billy Joe Saunders

its strictly opinion. The man has said for years that he wants to unify 160. I take him at his word, since there is nothing to suggest otherwise. Sure, a big money offer might change his plans. Or it might not. Until it actually happens, its all speculation
