One thing that gets overlooked is that RJJ was a natural counter-puncher.

Look at how he countered Hill's jab.

Ricardo Lopez. Anyone wanting to learn to box should study his fight tapes. Definitely the most sound technical fighter I've seen since I started watching boxing.

What else would he need to rely on though? If he just retired in his prime... then people would never say he wasn't developed enough technically.

                  SRR, RJJ and SRL.

Mike Tyson was close to perfect as a heavy, only thing missing was mentality.

Roy Jones until he reached his mid 30s was as close to perfect an athlete can be in boxing.....Power in both hands, speed, reflexes, otherworldly coordination, an unorthodox style with a good basis of technique and strategy, threw combos and punches at any angle, great foot work and could control the pace of a fight, he could do it all in the ring whenever he chose to......never saw a fighter like him before or since his prime
