That's way off actually. GGG's most recent 30 day weight was 165. 165! He makes middle weight comfortably and has been there his whole career. Ward hasn't fought at 168 since 11/16/2013. He last fought at a catchweight of 172 and just signed a contract with HBO to campaign at 175. Ward hasn't fought at super middle in two years.

Of course Kovalev fans want the fight against Ward; however, confirmation of the signing would be more assuring than mere intent. Naturally, even a signed contract doesn't guarantee that illness or injury won't disrupt the whole process, but it would be the affirmation fight fans seek.Comment

Read below and see what Ward himself says:That's way off actually. GGG's most recent 30 day weight was 165. 165! He makes middle weight comfortably and has been there his whole career. This article by Ben Thompson 11-03-2015: "BT: Do you plan on packing on any extra muscle at 175 or are you good with maybe coming in smaller than some of these guys?
AW: Nah, I'm not into packing on size. I gotta cut weight to get to '75. I think a lot of people think it's a major build-up situation. There's some things you're going to different. There's some different training methods and whatnot, but I have to cut to get to '75, so it's not like I'm putting on any kind of muscle like when Roy went to heavyweight or something like that. It's not that, so I'm not really interested in size. I want to keep my speed and I want to keep my explosiveness. We'll change some things, but size is not the answer.Last edited by Mr.Daddy; 11-12-2015, 03:43 PM.Comment

Casuals don't even know who Ward and Kovalev are. Why should they care whether 2 guys they've never heard of fight each other or not?so thats the route they're taking. they're gonna build it up as ward is scared and ducking kovalev and it'll sell to the casuals and hardcores easily. sounds oddly familiar to may and pac to be honest and we saw what happened there. lets see who he fights in 2016 before the make the kovalev fight by the end of the year. I won't be surprised if kathy duva starts playing along with this.Comment

He could have fought Ward ... sometime next year .... maybe ... after another couple of tune-ups.GGG fights 3-4 times per year. with 2-3 against guys, that although very limited, were ranked with the top 5-7 in the weight class - like Lemeiux, Geale, macklin, Murray, Stevens.
I'll ask again? unlike What Ward is now saying he plans to do. who has GGG not fought who he should have/could have. GGG only says that I want to fight all the champions and the best at 160. meanwhile, Ward moves to 175 and says - whats the rush? why should I fight Kovalev anytime soon?
