Not really, and I don't mean that in a bad way. I mean he does not want to commit to the sport of boxing anymore and I don't blame him. It's very difficult as it is, and then I guess for his lifestyle and eating habits it's even more difficult. I think a guy like Rios has to give boxing 110% to be successful as oppose to other boxers giving 100%, but he only gives about 70%, and for the Bradley fight, it appeared he gave zero ****s. But that's just from my perspective, he may have killed himself in training camp to make weight. But he certainly didn't kill himself in training camp to come up with a good game plan and that's not even Robert Garcia's fault. Maybe now Rios knows what people are talking about when they say the Alvarado in the third fight was not physically prepared.

What exactly are we supposedly to be feeling bad for him over?

He had a highly successful career. Anyone who's had as many fights as Rios did on HBO has had a great career. He was a champion. He fought one of the legends of the sport. He had a great trilogy (granted Alvarado didn't show up for the last fight, but still). He made a nice pile of money. Idk that there is much to feel bad for him about.
