If he is a little smart he should be set for life with just that one payday he got for Bradley, let alone the many more he made for years. No, I don't feel bad, I wish I was him not having to worry about getting a 9-5 after school.

I don't feel sorry for him because he's a boxer and this is his job. He didn't suffer a career ending injury, he went out on his own terms and he's apparently saved his money. If anything I applaud him.

Rios is 29 years old. He thinks he's done because he lost by KO to Bradley. The reality is that he slacked off for 10 months & couldn't reverse the effects in 8 weeks of training. Few can. "Bam bam" has way too much machismo to go out like a bitch on a loss to Bradley. Get off your fat ass Brandon, & get back into the gym! He needs someone like Atlas to light a fire under his ass. Garcia sounded like a whiny girlfriend during the fight. "Come on Brandon, this is not what we trained for! You aren't doing nothing, come on!" Waaa!

I think it is the right decision to retire but what the hell does someone like Rios do with the rest of his life?

I know he has made some good money..and he claims that he has kept it..but still, he isn't even 30 yet. He's going to have to work eventually. He isn't articulate enough to be a commentator...probably doesn't want to be a trainer...not polished enough to work for a promoter and I'm not sure what interests/skills he has outside of boxing.

No, are you crazy? A career his over, so naturally he's going to be bummed out for a few days.

But, as I said in another thread, you guys have to put things into perspective: Brandon Rios was supposed to be an opponent for Anthony Peterson, that's it. I remember Garcia saying TR had a look at Brandon when he was a young undefeated fighter and that they were unimpressed and uninterested, and that it was hard to get him signed.

Dude made millions, became a world champion, and shared the ring with some of the greatest fighters of the era. Not bad for someone that was supposed to be an opponent for Anthony ****in Perterson.

Yeah I do feel bad for him, he might talk mad smack but genuinely he is one of the very few guys in boxing who will go out there fight anybody and put on a show he will be missed from this sport but I'm also glad to see him get out of there just hope he keeps himself fit doesn't bloat up into a big balloon.
