As for this thread, There was NO testing for that fight. Kovalev wasn't assumed guilty, Cotto shouldn't be either IMO.
Pascal had already agreed to pay for the tests, and VADA was supposedly to be cheaper than the original, and we know it actually catches people.

Why would they agree to let Pascal implement his own testing program as he's working with Memo? There might as well be no testing at all...
You make a fair point, but why didn't Duva/Kov have VADA from the beginning is the best question. The request was a quick response to save face, we all see that.

I do not want to deviate from the thread. The main point is "no VADA=dirty" can't be applied randomly. I agree that it looks bad, but I don't agree it automatically makes Cotto dirty.

this is right, but Duva/Kov didn't have VADA from the beginning. It was a face saving move.

            Just making a comparison.

The only agenda I have is getting Home Depot to shorten the range on their WIFI so you can't post from across the street on the corner.

It's true, team Kovalev didn't bring up VADA on their own, and few fighters actually do for various reasons (guilty, hassle, cost).

But when it is brought and then rejected is when the fighters deserve to be criticized. That's what Cotto's doing and for no good reason. It's not like money is an issue, and drug testing should be required/expected anyways. Ironically 4 months from now Cotto would be required by the WBC to do this testing as part of the WBC's new rules.

I agree that there should be advanced testing for every fight, whether it be VADA, USADA, or the commission pays for it. Ideally, I think the commission and the sanctioning bodies should pay for it.
