The division is weak and has been for quite some time. GGG is good, not great, but is hands down the best 160lb. fighter(The best 155lb. fighter will be determined soon).

I agree with a bit of both.

Well the middlleweight isnt stacked with great talent from what i can see, but the average man weighs around the 160 mark so your likely to get the best talent in and around there.

But kovalev could see how good he was, so if you got guys like that singing your praises its obvious you have a certain amount of potential in the first place.

A little bit of column A and a little bit of column B.

GGG is just better than everyone else. When critics are calling for a MW to fight a LHW in order to prove himself, you know they think extremely highly of him.

Golovkin is quite good. Division is quite crap. Really nothing interesting going on there except for Golovkin.

when does a division is good? or elite? or superstacked?

is when the division has a good number of A or A+ fighters?
when the divison average is good?

GGG is just too head and shoulders above everybody else

SMW is a way worse division than MW atm, yet nobody *****es because nobody stands out now that Froch and Ward are out of the picture

The biggest problem with MW is that the fighters there are too inactive. Quillin, Korobov, N'Dam are all legit talents but fight too infrequent. People were excited about Quillin after he beat N'Dam and even Guerrero. He stumbled a bit with Rosado and then Haymon pulled him back. Kept him out for a long time and started matching him really poorly. He could've stayed active against guys like Macklin, Barker and Mora and people would have more respect for him. The same with a few other guys at MW. Even with Lemieux, if he had been allowed to KO Tureano Johnson and Jorge Heiland before Golovkin, people would've gave Golovkin a little more credit for beating him because Lemeiux would've been more established.

There's some major talent about to explode at MW with Derevyanshenko, Khytrov & Eubank. Then some other young guys in a few more years; Magomedov, Douglass, Murata, Ogogo & Falcao.

If this was the 80's - then all your top JMW's; Charlo's, Andrade, J-Rock, Canelo, Lara would all be competing at MW. Those guys are really MW's, but they're young enough to be able to make the weight cut - I would expect they'll be moving up in a few years. Lara by his own admission is a big JMW and rehydrates to the same 170lbs Golovkin does.
