Maybe it means HBO's giving Ward a prime time slot not on the ppv. That was on the table at one point. Perhaps it was even Andre himself who wanted a better opponent so he wouldn't take so much ****, therefore they moved the fight. Perhaps even a split-site double header when Kovalev fights Pascal in Montreal, Ward fights Gonzalez in Oakland?

there must be something going on behind the scenes. it was first reported that ward would feature on the cotto ppv as early as august; that should have been plenty of time to sort things out...

I heard Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. is trying to enter as a last minute replacement.

His father is pretty pissed off about it.

doubt it. Him and his team were the ones pursuing brand before HBO turned him down then set his sights on the Aussie.

Ward's team even offered to fight Dunn... who barely sc****d by Findley recently

Hasn't anyone else figured this out yet? Andre Ward never existed at all.

            Thanks a lot, *****!

The loss of Ward may end up hurting this PPV... I have no interest in watching Miura or any of those other fights, but I did have interest in seeing Andre Ward as the co-main event behind Cotto and Canelo and I'm sure a lot of people did as well.

              It's bad news for everyone.

Poor Ward. Then again he should have secured a better opponent. He had several months to get it done.

Same here... It was expected cuz Ward did an interview (last week I think or the week before) where he said he wasn't even 100% sure if he was fighting on the ppv card or his own date.
