Unless they want to be taken to court and sued,I don't think that they're ****** enough to not strip cotto or canelo if they refuse to fight golovkin.
Do posters honestly think the WBC would strip the winner of Cotto-Canelo??

Whatever happened to the good old days when fighters just wanted to fight, rather than have to be sued to get someone to fight them? Damn I miss Leonard, Jones, Sanchez, Gomez, Duran, Hagler, Benitez, Cuevas, Hearns, Hopkins, Pryor, and God knows how many countless others. And for any fan to support fighters voiding other fighters because of made up crap about A side or has earned the right to chose and other crap is beyond me. And if a fighter doesn't fight his mandatory he has a choice to pay of the Mandatory or get his a$$ stripped, that is the right thing. Doesn't always work that way but it should.Last edited by richardt; 11-03-2015, 01:02 PM.Comment

Yes I absolutely believe they will get stripped if they don't fight GGG.
And I say good riddance. If they don't want to fight the top MW dog then feel free to let go of his title.Comment

I would laugh if after the fight who ever wins drops the belt and they fight in a rematch for the vacant 154 lbs title.Comment

Yes, I think he'll get stripped. Not only because if they don't they can get sued and become a joke, but also because they can let them fight for Floyd's 154 belt. They give the MW belt to a real MW, get the sanctioning fee from Cotto/Ginger again, and get a legitimate title holder for Jr MW title.
Win-Win-Win-Win for them.Comment

The wbc has talked so much **** trying to say the politically correct thing to say regarding their rules, that all eyes will be on them to follow through with their rules. The only loophole they gave Cotto/Canelo is only if they can get permission from team ggg to fight some one else. Otherwise yeah they have to go through with their rules because they have been talking about the rules so much.Comment
