"I'm not a MW, folks, I'm the MW Champion!"
The catchweight is more of a fair scenario for BOTH sides... and that fight at 155-157 will be even more competitive and that is exactly what I would like to see. Its not ducking is called being smart and making the fights that makes the most money. GGG is not a draw but I would still like to see Cotto vs GGG at a catchweight.
GGG will continue fighting nobodies if he refuses the CW.... And the hype will be even more ridiculous!!!

Well you may not need GGG to write your story. But if you fought GGG it would enhance your story, especially if you beat him.

Malignaggi (27-0-4kos) lost and had his jaw broken in to pieces....
at 147 He defeated Carlos Quintana (22-0-18kos), Zab Judah (34-4-25kos)(still in his prime), Shane Mosley (still in his prime, coming off 2 big wins against Fernando Vargas and Oscar De la Hoya). Lost to Margacheato (loaded gloves we all know) (almost got killed by the dirty mexican). Came back and defeated Joshua Clottey (very avoided fighter at 147 due to dirty tactic headbutts). Was weight drained to 155 pounds in order to fight "PED" Pacquiao at the time (WAS KTFO)..... the list goes on but just to give you an quick example.
What about GGG's best win??? Murray? Lemiuex??

If Froch hadn't lost his bottle and lost to Ggg in the ring, you'd rank their wins like this
1. Ggg over Froch
2. Ward over Froch
3. Ward over Kessler
4-15. Bunch of similar level wins

"boxing is a business" this is true. these guys dont fight for bragging, they fight for money. golovkin is not the biggest money fight for cotto if he wins, a mayweather rematch is ten times bigger.
if it was about bragging golovkin woulda fought ward with no demands.
cotto has paid the cost to be the boss, period. he can call the shots because hes a boss, this is not about ducking. canelo is also a boss.
emotional fans love to label professional fighters cowads, get out of your feelings.
golovkin is an elite talent but against cotto and canelo he brings nothing to the table, this is facts. he can have all the belts but what hes really after is a big money PPV fight, which is why hes willing to drain for mayweather.
if he wants a big money fight, he will have to stop acting like hes on a superstar level, humble himself and accept whatever terms are laid out. he has no choice.
canelo can fight his gardener on PPV and still sell more than 150K. this is a business indeed.

Ps : Still that left hook Knocked down was way nastier than GGG's stopage....
GGG fan boyz celebrating THAT!!!???? #pathetic #sickening
As if that's not an important detail.
Originally posted by bigjer88 View PostNo doubt that Ward has been a profound disappointment in recent years, but his resume is still pretty damn good. Didn't have a close fight in the Super 6. I'm sure you'll diminish the significance of those wins, though. Right? And, 3, 2, 1 . . .
And I've said Ward has decent wins, but some act like his resume is 20x GGG, that's not true.
And lately it's garbage, but they want to slam GGG for wanting to unify.
It's a ****ing double standard. Especially with what Ward is doing right now.
