    Deja Vu

This all reminds me of when Michael Spinks was heavyweight champ (after coming up from light heavyweight to beat Holmes) and then Tyson burst on the scene. Cotto doesn't want to wind up like Spinks to GGG's Tyson. There's no shame in that. He's done enough in a career that many thought was over in 2008. I thought he was done for good after he lost to Trout. I'm glad I was wrong.

If he beats Canelo, I won't have a problem if he vacates...but I hope he'll take one more significant fight at junior middle before he retires.

Sure - GGG fans will diss Cotto if he beats Canelo and doesn't fight GGG...but history will see the totality of Cotto's career and give him the credit he deserves for being one of the great fighters of his era who sacrificed immensely for his well-earned glory.

Most of the damn GGG lovers here fail to realize the Cotto is about to fight a very good fighter young fighter on November 21. And GGG is just stepping into the lime light.

GGG has had his chance to fight champions in different weight classes but has decided to fight scraps in one. Cotto has made history so this statement is very accurate.

GGG needs to fight the Quillens, and Wards. But his team knows the deal, to much risk with the hype momentum they have gained.

Difference being GGG isn't the 168 'lineal' champion dragging people down a weight class to his natural weight. Cotto, on the other hand...

No one cares about those titles in this instance except GGG whiners because everyone knows that Cotto is hardly a middleweight. So yeah, point still stands. Cry on.

I can see it now, either the ref makes a premature stoppage or the judges get it wrong on the cards just enough to have a reason for a rematch...

That's why i can't critise fighters like Cotto, Martinez or Froch. They have pay their dues, it wasn't given to them on a platter, they had to earn it, they didn't earn it by default and they would not give it away by default. Martinez going up to fight Pavlik or him having to fight Williams at a catchweight, getting jobbed against Cintron or not getting his chance at Vernon Forrest, Froch having to go to america and fight Taylor, then Pascal, Super 6 etc, Cotto the same Pac, Mayweather, Margarito etc from 140 - 154... You have to earn it and no the alphabetical corrupt organisation belts is NOT going to earn it for you.

You are what psychologists call an "enabler." Cotto's MW reign is the biggest joke in boxing at the moment. I'm embarrassed to have ever been a fan.
