Marquez was already 3 years ago now. Pacquiao is still one of the best fighters in the world and it was the biggest fight in boxing for a long time. Mayweather picked up easily the best win and no one is going to get a better single win. The only way someone can beat him out is by good quantity. There's no one with a group of wins definitively better than Mayweather's one great win.

100% truth. Marquez just has Pac's number. That doesn't make Pac any less of a fighter. He was a year removed from dominating Timothy Bradley who was a unanimous top 3 pound for pound fighter at that particular time.

He did beat TWO former world champions and made it look EASY, and one of those was SUPPOSED to be #2 of his generation, and he OUTCLASSED him. The IV controversty (amongst pac fans) was within the rules. So the best boxer won the award for fighter of the year. How is that a suprise was pac supposed to win it for losing? was lil g supposed to win it for fighting bums? The award went to the boxer with the highest profile, in order to bring more attention to the sport of BOXING. And thats what awards are for....promotion of said enterprise...+ he's TBE! Hard Work and Dedication!

I mean, he obliterated Rios and Algieri, plus the Bradley rematch win. Other than Marquez no one had really come close to beating Pacquiao since Morales. Pacquiao is still one of the 5 or 6 best fighters in the world right now unless he starts showing up not giving a crap.

You have to give Mayweather his due credit. He was pretty damn close to shot offensively in that fight, it's not like he was anywhere near prime either.

It is not just Pac fans - as you wish it might be. It is all discerning intelligent boxing fans who feel a mixture of intrigue/concern/disgust that the self-declared TBE got there by at best bending the rules and at worst pure cheating.

Also the IV bag was not within the rules. The TUE was awarded outside rules of NSAC and should not be granted by USADA.

Thomas Hauser wrote his piece on Mayweather/USADA. USADA refuted. Hauser came back again and so far USADA have not refuted again. Read Hauser's latest here and stop with the blind faith.

So beating an injured Pacquiao is enough to win FOTY? The winner of the biggest, lousiest championship match of the year should be named FOTY??? To that sir, I say GTFOH!!

So, just to clarify, you think Floyd beating the Manny Marquez already ko'd is the best win of the last 3 years. Correct? After Marquez ko'd him. You do not think Floyd's win is better than Marquez', right?

                      "fighter" of the year

The award is not for " most skillful avoider of a fighter..er of the year. A guy who consistently avoids a fight(his entire career) should not be called a fighter. He is an entertainer not a fighter. He has taken the most central aspect of being a fighter out of the equation by dancing, holding, grabbing and dodging his way to boring who cares decision after decision. Don't glorify a guy who avoids a fight all night and then boasts how good he is. He ain't no fighter!!!!. If a fighter is in there and is that much better than his opponent then he tries to take them out. If he's all time good then he does take them out more often than not. A guy who refuses to engage with anybody and dances his way to points victories is not to be celebrated. That man does not demonstrate the defining characteristic of a fighter which is the willingness to impose his will on another and come out victorious even if he exposes himself to danger. Somebody who is not willing to expose himself to danger and then calls it " skill" is just a sissy. That man should take his money and go home with his mouth shout because he does a disservice to all those warriors, true fighters who are willing. Those men are fighters!!!!
