Fighter of the year award is likely being headed by either Wladimir Klitschko (IF he beats Tyson Fury) or GGG, Floyd had a great chance to take that trophy of fighter of the year but he put a stinker of a performance against one armed Pacquiao and he just did enough to win that fight, just enough and absolutely no more!
Then he dominated an opponent who nobody wanted to see him fight in Andre Berto, for any publication who have Floyd leading the charge for that title its shameful.

Considering Hauser is implying that between them USADA and Mayweather were bending the rules for the Mosley, Cotto, Canelo and Pac fights - yep, it's fairly serious - take away those 4 fights and Mayweather's legacy is seriously reduced.

Sadly, I have to agree. I laugh at anyone who thinks wins over Murray and Leimux trump Pacquiao.

We're having another year where no one has gotten more than one great win, so fighter of the year becomes best win of the year again.

Personally, I think no one should get the award this year.

Nobody really stands out. He's not the leading candidate IMO but you could give it to him for having the best individual win of the year.

Wlad if he beats Fury, GGG and the sleeper Badou Jack should also be in consideration.

Didn't think of him off the top, but that would be a good pick. He beat two fighters where he was an underdog and won a belt in the process on 21 fights in. I would like that pick.

The Pacquiao win is the biggest win by any fighter in years. No one should complain if Mayweather picks up some FOTY awards. People will, but they shouldn't.

Ahem - giggler ... mark my words. If and when Mayweather comes back there will be a tremendous amount of light shone on USADA testing methods with Mayweather which are different with him than for others - I wonder why that is? So much light in fact that Mayweather might suffer fits of pique and refuse to sign contracts as his advantages will look likely to disappear.
