Exactly. Just because Floyd easily won against Manny doesn't mean that he shouldn't be fighter of the year. What's Floyd suppose to do when his talent permits him to outshine his opponent - stop the fight and give lesson or two?

Disagree. I don't think Mayweather should even be an candidate. The version of Manny he beat wasn't the same fighter from 2010. You can't award fighters for ducking, it sends a bad message.

Plus his performance was pathetic l, we gonna give fighter of the year to a man that fought scared against a smaller fighter, I mean really that's going to be boxing's FOTY.

Plus the whole drug testing thing is still su****ious and bound to blow up in the writers face when Floyd is eventually investigated. People will be like, "who the fuq voted for the guy who cheated before his fight and fought a sad fight at that".

And there's so many better candidates like GGG, Canelo, and Cotto.

Just save the sport the embrassment.

What Fraud does is not fighting. He pop shots and cruises to victories. Even his FloHoe fans agree he doesn't fight.

He should be the "Glorified Sparring Partner" of the year.

        Edit

Add to that, Karass or Guerrero weren't Fighters of the Year when they beat Berto more impressively than Fraud did and Marquez wasn't Fighter of the Year when he beat Pacquaio more impressively than Fraud did. This is a joke if Fraud gets FOTY, especially after cheating his way to those wins.

Wlad if he beats Fury, GGG and the sleeper Badou Jack should also be in consideration.
            Good calls.

Badou Jack beating Anthony Dirrell & George Groves back to back is not without merit.

Similarly, wins over Jennings & Fury would represent a good return for Wlad.

That said, I doubt a Swede or a Ukrainian would get the nod.

Cotto-Canelo winner might be a decent choice.

It's sad that with more boxing on than ever, the quality of the match-ups is poorer than ever.

Sounds so easy. Why doesn't everyone do it? Is Floyd just that good? His opponents are reduced to looking like sparring partners.

GTFO, the topic is: Mayweather is FIGHTER of the year.

I countered with "What Fraud does in the ring IS NOT FIGHTING." Also, guys who are actual FIGHTERS have defeated Berto and Paquiao MUCH MUCH more impressively than Fraud did. And they didn't get FOTY.

Fraud's safety first approach is not fighting.

Beating PTSD Pacquiao in 2015 is not that good a win.....people still acting like that Marquez KO of Pacquiao is Floyd's...

Can't these american writers move over those two? we already saw what a turd they were in their later years...they should be thankful they grew old in a s.hit era of boxing where there's no real young lions out there who would put them out of their misery.
