Canelo stated that he has no interest in middleweight, and yet you call him a coward for wanting a catchweight.
Whats up with that blatant two-faced fanboy **** hero ?Last edited by Xi_; 11-03-2015, 09:56 AM.

155 for a fight that can make you a PPV star or fight for a vacant belt against someone we don't care about. I hope Lara moves up and becomes the mandatory.

Originally posted by Mr.Daddy View PostNope. Over the last two years, it has been next to impossible to negotiate and sign a fight with Andre Ward. If you don't believe so, then why has Ward had only one fight (Paul Smith) in that period of time? For the last two years, Ward has not been and currently is still not a realistic opponent for any top ranked fighter let alone the current best middleweight fighter on earth. If what I have stated is wrong, then list the top ranked fighters Ward has fought or is contracted to fight at present. You cannot - because it is exactly as I've said. Ward had removed himself from the pool of active boxers, and currently is seeking bouts with less than highly ranked opponents - especially those opponents in the light heavyweight class in which Andre is currently fighting. And you state that GGG was to push aside his long term pursuit of the unified middleweight title in order to secure a fight with Andre Ward? Remember, Ward hasn't fought a top ranked opponent in years. In addition, Ward is still not contracted to fight a top ranked opponent as of November 3rd, 2015. What Ward has done is to fight a porked up super middleweight, Paul Smith, select an opponent who was rejected outright by the NSAC, and then replace that opponent with another super middleweight, 38 year old Alexander Brand. So, is GGG going to drop 20 or so places in his ranking as a fighter? Is GGG going to pork up to fight as a light heavyweight? Well, if not then GGG most certainly doesn't fit the pool of fighters which Andre Ward has chosen to fight. Yet you claim that it was GGG's fault that he hasn't secured a fight with Andre Ward?
If there was a genuine reason, they would have stated it, instead we got a different excuse every week.
Kovalev had no problem negotiating with Ward.

As for Kovalev and Ward fighting, I know that they are negotiating a fight for late 2016, but I don't know that any contract has yet been signed. If, and it is a huge if, Kovalev and Ward finally do fight in late 2016, then that also supports my contention that Ward wasn't in shape to fight middleweight champion GGG at any time this year as well as Ward's not being in shape to fight at the championship level until late 2016. And that's fighting at light heavyweight, which makes me even more doubtful that Ward was serious in pursuing GGG as an opponent. So, no fights for Andre Ward from Nov. 16th of 2013 until his June 20th, 2015 light heavyweight fight with Paul Smith to be followed by a Nov. 21st, 2015 fight against Alexander Brand. By the calendar, that was one fight in two full years; a fight against porky Paul Smith (who was quite embarrassed and apologetic about his ring condition) and not much more than a rigorous sparring match rather than a fight. And yet fans are to believe that Ward was in shape and pursuing in good faith a contracted 2015 fight with GGG even before the Paul Smith pig roast. Ha! That's a good one.

Your opinion is not going to change no matter what evidence I present concerning Andre Ward and his big talk little action career revival, but for any objective fan, it is clearly evident that Andre Ward was in no position to contract a fight with GGG - for why else would Ward have told HBO, "No." while GGG when ask at the same time if he would fight Ward said, "Yes." And since that encounter on HBO, Andre Ward's ring opponents (super middleweights Smith - previous two fights were losses, and Brand on 11-24-15 - having fought only once since Sept. 2014, and not to mention Rohan Murdock, the Ward selected fighter whom the NSAC would not sanction as Ward's opponent, only reinforce the conclusion that Ward himself knows that he was not yet ready to fight a top ranked opponent let alone GGG and especially not GGG any time before now.

Exactly the opposite in fact.
They use a different excuse everytime his name is mentioned.
They turned his offer down in 25 mins FLAT, with NO offer of negotiation.

He promised the world, delivered nothing, and I dont expect that to change.
Ward has proved that he is willing to fight the best.
