Lost any respect for GGG after reading this article
If this guy (GGG, not his big-mouthed trainer) really says he is "willing to go down to 154 just for Mayweather" --which translates into: "I'd drain myself only for the biggest payday possible in my entire career."
Then I'd say he is a coward, not being willing to go down to anywhere from 155-159 to fight either Cotto or Canelo, which would obviously be less of a sacrifice than going all the way down to JMW. Simply put, to me this reads like: "if I am going to lose by fighting out of my most comfortable weight, which is 160, where I have fought lots of times successfully already and have proved to be "unbeatable" to this day, I will not risk losing the first time in my life, at any weight lower than 160, unless I get the biggest payday I can ever get. I mean, who cares if my undefeated record and legacy go both down the drain, if I am rich already?"
Just my interpretation. To me he is a coward. GGG fans: go ahead and criticize me. But the truth is, a real champ with guts and confidence, would go down to 155-159 to fight anyone, specially to unify all belts in his division, if he already expressed that he would actually go down to an even lower weight for someone else. Sad state of affairs, everything is about the money. I thought this GGG guy was the real deal, but obviously he is just another marketing puppet like everyone else. But I understand it, he is no spring chicken now, maybe he has only like two more years in top form, while others like Canelo are just barely beginning their careers (and are already much richer than him BTW, one of the reasons for it being precisely the fact that he drained himself to a very predictable loss, in order to load himself with money and secure his financial future at a very young age).Last edited by sterilizer; 11-02-2015, 12:44 PM.

And here are the differences between Canelo's drain vs. Golovkin's drain:
-Canelo was 23. Golovkin will be 34 at the time of the fight.
-Canelo drained 2 lbs, Golovkin is being asked to drain 5.
-Canelo has fought at and even below that CW for years. Golovkin has not fought below MW since his WW days when he was 19.
-Canelo had no leverage vs. Floyd. Golovkin is the mandatory to a belt and lineal crown.
Comparing the 2 is a joke. Canelo's a wuss, plain and simple.

Mayweather is retired so the only big money fights for him are Ward, Cotto, or Canelo. GGG will have to go up to 168, down to 155, or keep fighting for OK money

Must be very frustrating for GG haters that the only guy who could beat him is the number 2 P4P Ward, and at a weight GG has never fought in. Guys like Broner and Garcia only had to fight semi-retired Malignaggi for their debuts. GG had to fight #2 P4P. The hate is obvious.
Funny part was Ward was not even interested. He just blew smoke.

I didn't say you had doubts with regards to Ward being able to beat Golovkin. I was establishing the fact that we do not think differently when it comes to the outcomes of the match ups being discussed (Ward v Golovkin & Mayweather v Golovkin).
I'm calling you hypocrite because of the way you respond to Mayweather and Golovkin not taking the aforementioned match ups and your reasoning. It's hypocritical of you to fault Mayweather for not fighting Golovkin, whilst turning a blind eye to Golovkin not fighting Ward. It's hypocritical of you to expect Mayweather to fight north of his weight class for a fourth time, whilst not having the expectation that Golovkin should do so once. It is also hypocritical of you not to accept the fact that moving to a new division, for the first time, is not an issue for Golovkin when it involves fighting a much smaller opponent.

Talking **** about praising Floyd for having the balls to be a 3 time champion who suddenly can't fight at 154 no more. Aiight pot, whatever. I know why GGG isn't fighting Ward. He gets that a$$ whopped, same reason Floyd isn't fighting GGG.
