According to former IBF junior middleweight champion Carlos Molina, there are ongoing negotiations to face the newly crowned super welterweight champion of the World Boxing Organization, Liam Smith, on the 19th of December in Manchester, England.

Molina (23-6-2, 7 KO) broke an 11-month layoff on September 19 by knocking Manuel Garcia in three rounds. Now he wants to take on the young, unbeaten Smith (21-0-1, 11 KO).

I thought that under WBO rules(for what their worth) the winner of a vacant title had to fight the #1 mandatory, which as far as I know, although I could be wrong was Michel Soro.

It could be because Soro could be fighting Trout... but WBO don't give a damn

ya or perhaps trout? molina is too good though warren wouldnt sign off on that unless he's got dementia. He'd be looking for someone outside the top 15 he can get elevated, some african or somthing.

fighting Carlos Molina is almost like a lose-lose situation. You don't look good winning and you don't look good losing.

joe gallagher wouldnt be ok with it, he's on the look out for bums in manchester. Wait for the 3 rematch clause with any warren fighter.

Until the surprising loss to k9 he looked among the best in the division. Not sure what went wrong there but if he's back to form he wins this easy.

Not sure if he'll be able to travel though due to that pedo conviction?

I don't believe the U.K. will issue a visa to a convicted pedophile. If he does fight i hope he gets beat down similar to what Mosley did to Margarito.

Mosley didn't want a rematch clause so he turned down the fight.
