Malik Scott on the other hand is a very low quality fighter who has no punching power.

If this is what Wilder has to choose between, it doesn't look good.
Wilder and Jennings are the only American heavyweights worth a damn. I still think Wilder fights either Szpilka or Wawrzyk in January.

That Wilder/Scott fight was suspect as can be. I've never played the "x fighter took a dive" card, but that is the one fight where things just didn't look right. Punch looked like it was blocked, or maybe partially grazed him, and he dropped like a sack of potatoes.

Supposing of course the big question...

Was the Scott vs Wilder match a complete fix and dive?

At face value there is a greater than even chance it was.

Therefore I think that a REAL Malik Scott vs Deontay Wilder match may be in order.

If we have to keep up this Western zone title charade then might as well determine who the best yank really is.
judging by the shot that hurt him tonight no it was not a fix..

It's not like they can sue me because I failed to cheat. There's also the fact that Wilder doesn't even bring in enough money to warrant cheating. I seriously doubt that Haymon would blow through hundreds of thousands of dollars for a guy who isn't even ready for PPV.

I've never understood the logic of accusing a fighter of taking dives. A fighter is more likely to appear on a network again if he gives a good account of himself in a loss, and would simply take the briber's position if he ended up winning. Unless there were mobsters behind the scenes telling Scott that his family would be murdered, he took no dive. Wilder just happens to hit really hard.
good point...but dont let them call it a dive this shot to the temple can put any man down...u saw him hurt from a softer shot tonight..

Damn. I just assumed Thompson was gonna win this one fairly easily. Surprised with this outcome. Don't think much of Scott. Never thought much of Scott. Weird to think he probably just beat the #2 best HW in the US somehow. Holy **** how the US HW's have went down the toilet.

Malik is a journeyman, as well. Tony at 38 was strangely in his prime. But Bashir talks about how tricky he is for some reason. Cool to see this old lion go out like that--scoring the knockdown. Malik will be prep for Joshua and such.

Anyone who accused Scott of taking a dive is a f****** idiot I'm sorry but really f*** off. How dare some people on here make such a statement. Scott showed how good he really is tonight on to bigger and better things.
