Lemieux's camp, at the last moment, shrunk the ring down 4 feet on every side, fought with three Montreal judges scoring the fight, and yet his own hometown judges were only even able to justify giving him 6 rounds on two cards, with only 7 rounds on the third card (funny how you want to hide that little fact). You put Lemieux-N'Dam in even an 18x18 ring and Lemieux loses wide in Montreal (whether the judges would've scored things fair is another conversation).Look, stop stretching. Tell me what is accomplished about Paul Smith's record? He gut UD'd twice by a faded Arthur Abraham in fights he should never have got and KO'd by groves in the 2nd round.
Lemieux meanwhile knocked down N'Dam 4 times
Nobody who is unbiased on here claims Golovkin's resume is the best but Geale Murray and Lemieux are a level above Smith; they gained titles or in Murray's case should have gained titles whereas Smith always fell way short.
Paul Smith, after showing himself to be a class below James Degale and George Groves, did show himself to be in the same class as Arthur Abraham, a "faded fighter" who is still seen as being top 3 at 168, after having a noteworthy run at 160.
keep trying to diminish the man if you want.Comment

Why didn't Ward send the offer after he fought his tune ups, if he was still going to be at 168? It was going to be the same amount of time because Ward needs his tune ups. Why did he send an offer when he wasn't ready to fight and Golovkin already had a fight lined up?Golovkin said no to the offer, proceeded to do 100k PPV buys, and is now looking at a situation where neither Cotto or Alvarez are angling to fight him, the WBC is ready to hand him another world title belt. and he's literally looking at no marketable fights.
50/50 on a Ward fight, that would actually capture the attention of the sports world, is now looking like a sweetheart deal.
Have fun with Golovkin-Johnson or Golovkin-Heiland on HBO for $1.5m, rather than a Ward fight for double that.
He had to get that 50/50 split agreed to now for a fight sometime in the next year/18 months when GGG will be worth more money and Ward is coming off tune ups and probably can't make 168.
Some "deal" ya got there.
I'm sure you would've signed that deal though lolComment

Golovkin has very few genuine top 10 names on his resume.beating the #10 Ring rated fighter, only to then beat on the guy that gets bumped to #10, only to then beat on the guy who got bumped up to #9, is nowhere near as impressive as you've consistently tried to make things seem.
You line up Alexander Brand aganst Golovkin's resume and he probably doesn't lose a fight either, lol
Like you say, half of those guys hit the #9/#10 spot, now they are gone.
Sanchez even admitted that Stevens is better than Lemieux, and Stevens is not top 10.Comment

Oh, Ward, big star. P4P fighting Unranked fighters. Wow!
If you dumb enough to believe that marketability is the reason Cotto and Canelo want no part of GGG, well then have at it.Golovkin said no to the offer, proceeded to do 100k PPV buys, and is now looking at a situation where neither Cotto or Alvarez are angling to fight him, the WBC is ready to hand him another world title belt. and he's literally looking at no marketable fights.

Outside of Floyd and a rematch, GGG Canelo would easily be the fight of 2016.
And why you're at it, let me know when Wards pushing his own PPV fights.
And when was Ward gonna fight him? After a year of tune ups.
And what was he gonna fight him at, he gonna Drag a MW up to 175, because GGG isn't fighting a LHW and Ward can't make 168.Last edited by Progrssive_Jedi; 10-30-2015, 02:13 AM.Comment
