You are grasping at straws. Ward started his career at 160. Spent a short time there, only 5 fights at the 160 lb. limit, as he was dropped by Boone and hurt by Kolle in his short stay.
He moved up to 168 and proceeded to clean out the division. Won the Super 6 by defeating Kessler, Abraham, and Froch along the way. Knocked out the lineal LHW champ at the 168 lb. limit after the tournament as well. In his stay at 168, he won the WBA, WBC, RING, TBRB, and Lineal championships.
He then sat on the shelf for almost two years due to promotional issues. Came back as a LHW. His first two fights ended up being tune-ups (Smith, Brand), but he has signed a contract to fight Kovalev by the end of next year. So in 2016, Ward's top 5 scalps will be Kessler, Abraham, Froch, Dawson, and Kovalev. He will have added the WBA, IBF, and WBO titles at LHW to his trophy case that already includes his SMW conquests.
Yet you still denigrate this man? While propping up a coward that is begging for fights against retired WWs and blown-up JMWs? You are a sad man with very little cognitive ability. I am dumber for having engaged in this tit-for-tat with you. Goodbye.
I wasn't planning on jumping in until I saw your last paragraph. I think Ward is a fantastic fighter and is obviously well-proven (#2 P4P when he was active).
I use to think you were trolling from most of your posts, but this clearly indicates you're not. You are one of the most biased posters here. I really don't know why you and many others here have a lifelong vendetta against Golovkin. He's never committed any crimes. He's never mocked his opponents. He's never showboated his wealth, fame, or belittled the community. He's not the one talking smack, from what I see it's mostly his team. He's an entertaining fighter who practically never clinches. He is a very skilled boxer, who KO's opponent after opponent. He's consistently fighting top 10 middleweight ranked opponents, and has 2 out of the 4 major belts. He's trying to become an undisputed champion, something not even Andre Ward has become at 168. And you know what? He's probably fought more top 10 opponents in his division than Ward has. Yes, Ward has been away for about 2 years, but he's also been a professional about 2 years longer than GGG. Is it GGG's fault there aren't many middleweights that are ranked similarly to Froch, for instance? No. Is it GGG's fault that there isn't a Super 6? No.
Yet, you and some other NSB posters still find ways to call him a coward, a bum, etc. You attribute anything that his team does to reflect on him as a person, despite him not actually doing anything wrong. You treat other boxers who call out fighters only to use their name differently, fighters that have more serious flaws whether in character or fighting methodology, better than GGG.
You're actually trying to pull the excuse that Canelo, a 25 year old who weighs 175 lbs, is a blown up JMW? What next, Mike Tyson was a blown up Cruiserweight? Canelo is 5'9" and holds very little fat. He's done a great job at going up in weight, but then again, he's just now entering his physical prime. Was JCC Jr. also fighting at the right weight classes all these years?
Right Larry, what's the excuse going to be now? "Amateur boxing doesn't count!"
I'm assuming we all know that Ward was a light heavyweight his final few years of amateur boxing? And do we still have ignorant people here on NSB saying Ward hasn't lost since he was 12-13?
I honestly feel like the majority of Ward "fanboys" aren't even really fans of him. They are just using him as a reason to hate on Golovkin. Again, I don't know why. He's a fun fighter to watch and doesn't do ****** things.
Better yet, I was just trying to get the BEST 401K EVER by betting $$$$$$ on Ward over GGG! So YES!! I'm pissed your boy ran. I really believe GGG = Broner but way SMARTER and never moved up from 130. I do know Ward would beat GGG. A Great Boxer will ALWAYS beat a great puncher. How MANY F'n reruns do you need to see before you wise up???
GGG = Prov if GGG wasn't in such a SHTY division he would of been exposed
MAtty / Postal
Matty / Garcia
Floyd / Pac
Rig. / Donaire
I think you are either A.D.D or sniffing something that makes you act that way - your mind is jumping all over the place - I was talking about Brand being a D level fighter - your are crapping on about $60/hour and 401K and now Broner? I was going to disengage but I might carry on because I feel you have it in you tonight to come out with one of those all time classic posts.
Ward was 168 lb WBA champ,at the time what are you talking about ?
Froch and Ward competed in a SMW fight Froch at 167 1/2 Ward 168
How much did GGG just rehydrate to against Lemuiex ?
The excuse need to stop fo,this guy ..
Who's record is 33-0 yet not one elite name on it but you want to criticize Ward for taking tune ups before facing the man at Lhw ? Last I checked Ward is moving up when will GGG?
When he cleans out his division, dum****. But I doubt he'll take 4 years, or drag a Colombian nobody up in weight twhen he moves up. He didn't need a 168 tune-up for Wards best win Froch in the UK
And what's this about GGG rehydration weight? It was less than Lemieux, Canelo, Trout, or even Lara vs Smith. What was the point you tried to make?
The criticism of Golovkin only started after he and his camp turned to sniveling *****es once Andre Ward expressed interest in taking them up on their "fight anyone 154-168" bull****.
Ambition is healthy; every young fighter worth anything has ambitions of moving up 2-3 weight classes and competing one day. When that opportunity comes though, and you turn *****, the public will roast you for your cowardice.
David Lemieaux is a bum fighter who's looked ordinary or like **** whenever he's stepped beyond that C-level of fighters; Paul Smith would walk into a fight with Golovkin, even after the Andre Ward performance, as the most accomplished fighter Golovkin has ever stepped into the ring with as a professional.
This thread has been taken over by GGG fan boys and haters. Why are people still mentioning Ward and GGG as viable options for each other? Ward has official set sights on Kovalev who deserves as much if not more respect than GGG.
Shut the **** up about GGG, him and Ward are never going to fight.....you guys just like to BS each other about nonsense.
Yeah but Ward fans who have him as no 1 or 2 P4P wanted GGG to move straight up and face him at 168
Team Golovkin was running their mouths about taking on the #2 super middleweight on the planet in their first fight at the weight class, yet Golovkin fans had no problem with it.
The #1 super middleweight steps up and, all of a sudden, Golovkin fans want to see Golovkin campaign at 168 before even daring to step into the ring. gtfoh

Did I miss something. Sanchez (******ly imo) said that GGG could beat anyone 154-168. I don't recall him saying that Ward would be the first he'd fight at 168. If you do then please provide a link.
Which Golovkin fans? I'm way more interested in what 1/ Golovkin says and 2/ his team says.
How can he be top 5 GGG opponent when he beat 7 Ring top tenners, and this guy is nowhere near top 10, never fought a contender (fringe even), and coming up in weight?
Jack was a 10 fight soso prospect, and soon drew with Periban and got crushed by journeyman in 1. He wasnt top 50 then
Dunno, Ward last fought at 172, and hasn't hit 168 in 2 years. Even if you grant him that, this guy is nothing at 175, never mind Ring top 10. Just silly. Even GGG fringe comp like Ishida and Adama are way more proven to
beating the #10 Ring rated fighter, only to then beat on the guy that gets bumped to #10, only to then beat on the guy who got bumped up to #9, is nowhere near as impressive as you've consistently tried to make things seem.
You line up Alexander Brand aganst Golovkin's resume and he probably doesn't lose a fight either, lol
It's finally started to sink in, to Golovkin fans, that Canelo is more than happy to go back to 154, with Cotto likely to do the same, and Golovkin is likely to be left with absolute junk fights as he gets handed his third world championship.
They see that Andre Ward has moved on and that the only fights actually available to Golovkin are fights with Tureano Johnson and Jorge Sebastian Heiland and are now acting out (Eubank Jr is being actively steered towards Jacobs-Lee winner, with Lee-Saunders winner likely also going along that path).
pretty hilarious to watch.
What an excellent assessment . Cotto and Canelo will likely vacate or **** GGG so bad at the the negotiation table with purse distribution and weight clauses that GGG/Team prolly won't even be interested .
GGG hiding behind this phony crusade to unify 160 is so irrelevant and equivalent to me going back to my old middle school playground, shouting "Who the *** wants to get sparked out"
Like I've said many times before : GGG is too good and too strong for the 160 division , WE ALL GET IT , no one there can *** wit u . ANY achievement there is EPHEMERAL at this point as you've already handily beaten the top two guys there , PePe Lemu and Murray .
So instead of looking further south for opponents to pummel or looking for them to vacate , please jettison your azz outta there in search of those north of 160 who will present greater challenges to your mettle
