He's a complete fighter and only someone that has size on him and can inside fight and keep Golovkin from getting full leverage on his punches poses him any real threat, imo. Ouma tried to muscle him around a bit on the inside but didn't have the size. It would take a very special fighter to beat GGG at 160. Lara and lol..Mora.. are not it.
    I think that you have missed the point.....

    The world will not be built upon your opinion, and neither will GGG's resume.

    I want to see that fight.

    They said they could beat him, but then they chose not to fight him.

    Lara would look great on Golovkins underwhelming resume.

    Dude, if you think that they chose Monroe over Lara because whirlwind Willie is a bigger draw..... you need shooting.

    Fks sake, if they were going to fight a draw, it would not have been Willie

    Come on man, that was bullshht and you know it.

    I want to know EXACTLY why they dont want to get in with Lara.

    And I know why you dont

    " keep Golovkin from getting full leverage on his punches "

      I said I welcome the fight. Multiple times. Selective reading i guess. It will be amusing watching Lara use every square INCH of the ring to get away from Golovkin... and ultimately failing.

      I dont think either Munroe or Lara are a draw. But Munroe was someone readily available while Lara just drops names to create a small buzz about himself. He and his team were bluffing. Munroe was easier to pen the deal with while Lara is across promotional rifts and all this..Plus he has a sense of entitlement as to what his fight purse should be. Sounds like someone more difficult to negotiate with for sure.

      Murray was a better win than Lara at 160. So was Lemieux. Lara at 160 would be undersized and he would be right on the edge of GGG's punches. When I said don't allow him to get leverage I was referring to making him smother his work. Get in his chest and make it an ugly fight. Lara can't do any of this. He would try to stay on the outside and get bombed out on the ropes.

      If the fight comes off though..I have no problem with it at all. Just think it'd be a lopsided loss for Lara at best..if not a highlight reel ko.

        You know something we don't ?

        Team Golovkin have already passed on that fight.

        It appears that those kind of fights are not on Golovkins radar.

        All I am saying is, when the names on your resume are.....
        * Murray
        * Geale

        And the guys you COULD have fought but CHOSE not to are.....
        * Ward
        * Lara
        * Cotto
        * Canelo

        People will start to form conclusions.

        Not a good look from a guy who stated that he could beat every fighter from 154-168..... he is not beating them, because he is not even fighting them.

          Right, so that " draw " excuse was utter bullshht.

          But they said it anyway.

            I think his team said that to get lucrative fights. That's why I can see GGG making the weight cut to fight Canelo at 155, should Canelo beat Cotto. For the payday. But realistically, he won't venture from his comfortable calibrated weight unless someone truly makes it worth his while. He's in his thirties, it's not like he's a kid still growing into his body. Moving up he would be tiny, and thirty plus year olds don't move down well, so it is what it is. Manny, Floyd, Canelo at 155, Cotto at 155-157 possibly... That's the fights I can see GGG cutting weight for.

            I think their point is Lara isn't a draw. Why go through all the bothersome negotiation process with a Haymon fighter, and between networks, when you are an HBO guy, when a fight with Lara would generate very little more, if any, than setting up a fight with Munroe? In fact less and here's why: I mean what other Haymon fighters has GGG fought? Do you really think that's a duck? You realize HBO doesn't want anything to do with Haymon right? You realize for GGG to fight Lara it will have to be on PBC tv and not HBO? Largely, PBC events haven't gotten the same ratings as HBO events... So why would he make that change?

            To please a couple dozen hardcore fans?

              Right, but that makes him a total fkn hypejob, you do realise that right ?

              Canelo did not state that he can fight at middleweight, he said the opposite.

              About 10 days ago, Golovkin said that he could beat ANYONE at 154.

              One guy is doing exactly what he said he would do..... and the other guy is making astronomical claims, and then completely failing to achieve anything even close to that hype.

              They said this..... " we will fight anyone ".

              But they did this.....
              * Murray
              * Geale

              And they did not do this.....
              * Ward
              * Lara
              * Cotto
              * Canelo

              Golovkin is totally FAILING to live up to his hype.

              Dont know how experienced you are, but I have been around a long time.....
              ..... way too long to fall for any of that bullshht.

              Listen to Ward's comments on Golovkins resume......

              You guys need to either..... stop drinking the kool-aid, or develop some pride as fans and demand that Lovekin start to live up to his hype.

              • Can someone explain this to me?

                What shall we even believe?

                His trainer or his manager who is using his twitter account?

                • Might as well bump this thread and discuss what exactly Decubas wants for Lara. He's been using Lara's twitter account and calls out Golovkin.

                  Here comes Lara's trainer saying Lara is not ready to move up yet.

                  • Lara team is basically caught in a lie. Manager says one thing and the trainer says another.

                      It's a cunning tactic to promote your garbage fights by mentioning Golovkin's name. It always works for casuals, "GG ducking Lara doe."
