  • Comments Thread For: Trainer: Lara Has Options at 154, No Rush Moving Up

Erislandy Lara need not be in any rush to leave the junior middleweight division just yet, according to his trainer, Ronnie Shields. Though the decision would ultimately rest with Lara and his management team, Shields said his fighter is still comfortable at 154, where there are plenty of options available.

There you have it, Lara has no intention of moving up to 160 anytime soon. His supporters claim he has been calling out Golovkin who is ducking him but it looks like he'd rather stay at 154 where there are, undoubtedly, still some solid match ups for him. I hope this puts to rest the claims by the Lara fans that he has legitimate intentions to move up and fight Golovkin.

His trainer saying he sees no need for him to go up = Lara having no intention of moving up?

          Really?

Calling out GGG but no real intentions of going to 160, saying he has still good fights at 154 but fighting zavek
