At the moment 154 is deeper and better than 160 so this is a smart move for Erislandy.
    What an idiot lol

To make himself look the part and keep relevant while he fights has-beens

I don't think he's the one making these claims, suspect it's his managaer

I guess Lara really did want GGG to move down to 154lbs for him

Operative word being "guess". You'd be wrong.

                  You are th first.

Its always the same old rubbish..... boring, must prove himself at 160, not a draw, blah blah.
I've been advocating Golovkin/Lara since the Murray fight. The fight makes perfect sense for Golovkin. Easy to market fight.
                  • These don't like each other, and Lara is very vocal about it. With exception to Stevens, all of GGG's other opponents were very cordial in the build-up.
                  • Lara is a largely supported GGG opponent by many of Golovkin's critics.
                  • Lara would also be a common opponent to Alvarez.
                  • Lara being from the Houston area, makes for an ideal opponent for Golovkin to break into the San Antonio market with.
                  • Also many Mexican fans hate Lara for his fights with Alvarez & Angulo, so they would seemingly show up to support Golovkin vs Lara.
                  • Lara is a big JMW who rehydrates to 170lbs, same weight as Golovkin does.
                  • Great stylistic clash between to elites - Lara is a master at evading, Golovkin a master at hunting.

Lara's manager Decubas is finally exposed with his fake Golovkin tweets.

Lara's getting $1mill per fight against retired WW's like Rodriguez and now Zaveck. Even then, he coasted vs Rodriguez who was butchered by Cotto. He embarrassed himself vs Smith, even Floyd was making fun of him for running during the fight.

Golovkin didn't call out Lara, Lara's the one who's repeatedly gone on record saying he wants Golovkin at 160lbs. He called him out at 160 on tv right after the Rodriguez fight. And more recently at 160 on HBO:

It looks bad if he decides to back-off his call-outs without trying any negotiations.
