You don't understand how a budget works. Just because I cleaned up on a few events doesn't mean I wouldn't be pissed and disappointed that I lost millions on another event. People have reactions to specific events. Our reactions are not just based on the overall picture, they can influence them, but we still isolate events. I'd' be much more pissed if I lost millions on a specific event rather than a million or so. It's pretty simple.
Which was more dissapointing? Floyds 389k ppv buys or GGG's 97k buys.

Let's say you have a garage sale my man, no disrespect, but that's how we'll break it down for the sake of discussion. Let's say you have a garage sale. You're projecting that you got about $15K worth of junk you got laying around the crib that you know you can do without. You want to have a blowout weekend sale. You want to do $7,500 on Saturday & $7,500 on Sunday. You end up doing $12K on Saturday & $3K on Sunday although you projected $7,500. Was your Sunday a "Flop"?Last edited by El-blanco; 10-28-2015, 07:44 PM.Comment

I don't think ANYBODY even Mayweather and his people expected the numbers to be high realistically. They are fully aware they came off of a mega fight that ultimately disappointed where people spent $100 bucks for and the majority of the public wouldn't be interested in spending another $70 for his farewell session vs a lackluster opponent. No one expected the numbers to realistically be high.
May-Pac was a cash out fight for both. They can care less about what happens afterwards. Their careers, legacies and bank accounts are set. They don't need to prove that anymore. The pressure is on Golovkin now. He needs to continue winning. Win impressively. Just be himself and play to the people a bit. Make big fights. Etc.
However, that does not mean GGG was a failure. This is just the start. David Lemi-(heck I can't even spell his last name) wasn't Arturo Gatti in terms of general popularity. He is a top MW with the belt, but wasn't a beloved fighter like Gatti.
Eventually Mayweather got his DLH. GGG needs his Cotto/Canelo.Last edited by TyrantT316; 10-28-2015, 07:49 PM.Comment

I'm not a Floyd fan by any means.. more of a ggg fan actually..but I tell it how I see it.
Imagine ppv performance as grades... one student just started out (ggg) and got an f on a quiz. Another student has been around for a long time and is actually the valedictorian... he fails that quiz too. Is the new student perceived as the bigger disappointment for failing his first quiz. .or is the valedictorian more of a disappointment because of the weight of perfection he has placed upon his own shoulders?
There are arguments for both.Comment
