Which was more dissapointing? Floyds 389k ppv buys or GGG's 97k buys.

    U tell me.
What if I told you that Showtime already made their money from the Manny fight?

What if I told you that anything Mayweather/Berto did was a profit for Showtime?

What if I told you, Mayweather's contract with Showtime exceeded their expectations of monetary returns?

Now ask yourself, what was the flop? lol

Considering Mayweather's already negative public opinion, and the fact that 4.4 million people had spent $100 to watch him methodically beat Pacquiao about 90 days prior to that, to put him in the ring with a guy that EVERYONE said would lose to him and still bring in 400k buys is a resounding success.

GGG's coming out party featured him unifying belts at 160, and not 10% of his regular audience cared enough to buy the fight. I think Mayweather has him licked, because 400k buys would be monster numbers for any other fighter in the business. Mayweather's lowest numbers are still higher than the best numbers for like 99% of all other active boxers.

Lol. Just what I expected. Deflection instead of an answer.

I would love for u to tell me how showtime turned a profit for Floyd/Berto when anyone with basic math skills can't easily point out how it didn't.

It was expected to make a loss. Little Gs PPV was further away from expectations than Mayweathers. That makes it the bigger flop and your thread a fail.

So you expected the same 4.4 million people to come out and watch him fight a no hoper, after being disappointed with Pacquiao? Lol. Wow!

That is GGG and his team's fault. They chose to fight a nobody in his first PPV.

I'm guessing, but I'm sure Showtime didn't think Mayweather/Manny would do 4.4M PPV buys. I'm sure they didn't expect Mayweather/Canelo to do 2.4M PPV buys. They made their profits in those 2 fights alone. Anything else they raked in from Berto, Maidana & Guerrero were bonuses. I truly think they made out better than they initially expected. Stop looking at one fight and look at the structure of Floyd's deal with Showtime. Yeah Floyd/Berto looks like a bust standing by it'self, but seeing as how it's only 1 fight out of a 6 fight contract, it's hard to call it a flop if you've already made your money for it before the fighters even stepped in the ring. If GGG had a 3 fight PPV contract with HBO with Ward & Canelo being his next 2 fights, I would'nt be so quick to call this a flop, unfortuanetly that isn't the case.

389k buys @ $75 = $29,175,000. Cable providers take half which leaves the ppv take at $14,587,500. I didnt even include the purses for the undercard fighters which is about another 2-3mil combined. Not to mention the event was far from a sellout and the MGM keeps a good portion of the gate.

Rough estimates have showtime taking anywhere from a 15 -19mil loss on the card.

If that's not disappointing then I dont know what is.

Floyd berto probably lost over 10 million dollars. It's not even close. Only mentally ill people on here would try arguing otherwise.
