  • Comments Thread For: WBO Derecognizes Rigondeaux As 122 Lb Champ

Guillermo Rigondeaux is virtually unbeatable in the ring, but can't catch a break outside the ropes. The latest setback in his career progress came at the hands of the World Boxing Organization (WBO), who elected to derecognize the supremely gifted boxer as its super bantamweight champion.

The decision was announced Wednesday morning in Orlando, Florida, where the Puerto Rico-based sanctioning body is holding its annual convention. [Click Here To Read More]

So they gave him 10 days to answer on what, the seventh? They gave him like twice as long to answer.

If he really is having a fight in November, must not be ranked

Sure some of this is flat out top guys ducking him. But the larger reason is piss poor management around Rigo. He could of fought other guys to fulfill his mandatory and fought other guys to stay active. He's either turned down fights because he overvalued himself looking for a bigger payday that never came or his team around him is just fools who can't book him simple mandatory and stay busy fights.

I wanna say Haymon will pick him up but carribe being extremely difficult... that's my guess.

He seems to be under the impression he's on the ESPN card and I don't think they've announce a U/c for it yet
