Mine's not a theory. It's simple logic backed up by data. How much advertising was there for Ward fighting on BET? The average casual fan doesn't sit home on a Saturday and think "Hey I'll check out some boxing, better switch to BET!". It's the same principle as tuning into the Discovery Channel to find ****....although maybe that's what you're into.

I suppose you think Golovkin would do better on a channel like BET? Oh wait....you suddenly "wouldn't care" when the numbers came out just like you about his failed PPV which killed your previous "theory".
Yeah well maybe because it was half of the time and maybe because he actually "came off" or whatever you want to call it, his career best performance vs Chad Dawson.

What data? You have't presented any. You're just saying BET is not a traditional boxing channel. I said lots of channels weren't but that didn't stop them from getting good figures. Then you go on about their average rating.

It's not at all the same, and it simply backs up the fact that Ward isn't a big draw and certainly not bigger than GGG, as is proven by the very fact that he actually fights on BET

It's like when Arreola was degraded from HBO to ESPN and got worse ratings. Yeah go figure, if you were a star you would have been on HBO.

Now, despite all of that, if GGG was fighting on BET, guaranteed he'd draw in more than a measly 350k.

    And that's the bottom line.

Also, HBO paid $3.15 for the license. Extremely poor and probably why he hasn't been on HBO since.

Watch his next payday and watch GGGs.

Ward fought on BET because HBO rejected an opponent that they probably would celebrate for Golovkin. They're trying to keep Ward as far away from Golovkin as possible, even making him guarantee he'll fight Kovalev.

GGG is safe to continue one of the biggest con acts in boxing. And yet he's still not the "superstar" you claim.

          Biggest Con acts in boxing?

GGG is not an ATG. His record doesn't place him in the TOP10 or even TOP25 all-time middleweights but I wouldn't call someone who is destroying belt holders a con act.

You don't like him? Ok. You think some people are making outrageous claims? Ok. He's simply the best middleweight since Bernard Hopkins (in my view), or at least the best middleweight since Martinez. Which means that he isn't a con job.

Tyson Fury, for instance, may be a con job. We'll see after he fights Klitschko. If he's competitive, or wins, he's not a con job.

Re GGG: he's middleweight champion of the f*ing world. How can that be a con job?
