What is With this Avoiding Fighters Stuff?

I get so sick of hearing that. 99% of the time it is so untrue. I want someone to tell me when Mayweather has avoided somone and when has guys like Margarito been avoided?

Floyd gets unfairly ripped for not fighting some guys but its so untrue. When he was young at 130 and very early in his career he fought the legendary Genero Hernandez for the title, fought a very dangerous Chico, Manfredy, Chaves, Hernandez, and so many more.

Then he moved to 135 and took on a very dangerous Castillo in his 1st fight and gave him a immediate rematch to leave no doubt. He didnt run and hide after the 1st fight. He then fought a very tough N'Dou who many thought would beat him and Sosa.

Then he always gets ripped for 140 but how? He moved to 140 asked to fight Hatton and Hatton said no, he asked for Gatti and Gatti said no. He had no one to fight and had to settle for a very good Chop Chop. Then Hatton and others still wouldnt fight him until Gatti had to.

After the Gatti fight, Hatton still wasnt ready to fight Floyd, Cotto wasnt ready, Harris lost to a bum, so Floyd decided to move up but yet he always gets ripped and is said that he ducked guys and didnt take tough fights when these guys have admitted that they turned him down. Even a prime Lazcano admitted he turned Floyd down at 135.

He moves up to 147 to fight Zab because at that time Zab was the undisputed champ. People said he avoided Margarito but Zab was the guy who beat Spinks who people recognized as the champ. He fought a very good Mitchell as a tune up and then signed to fight Zab for the belt. He signed the Zab fight before the Baldomire fight but he steady gets ripped for again picking a easy opponent. No one knew Zab would lose and he signed it before the fight. At the time everyone thought that would be a big fight but because of Zab, Floyd gets ripped for it.

Then Margarito alreayd had a fight so Floyd couldnt switch to him. Now people say Floyd is still ducking Margarito. How? Floyd has said for years that he wanted Oscar and its all for the money and fame. If Margarito had Oscar's money or fame then Floyd would be all over that fight.

I still think he will fight Margarito but if he doesnt then it has nothing to do with him being scared. How does Margarito scare Floyd more then a undefeated prime Chico at 130, a legendary Hernandez when Floyd was a no body, or JLC at 135. No way Margarito is more scary then those guys.

Someone please tell me how did Floyd duck Hatton when Hatton has said "I need 2 more fights" so many times, how has he ducked Cotto when Arum wont put him anywhere near Floyd, how has he ducked Margarito when Floyd just got to 147 and went after Zab's title because he was recognized as the Champ?

Also people rip Floyd for fighting Zab but how is Margarito any better? Margarito had just came off a win over a green nobody in Cintron but before that he had just lost to Santos and got hurt many times so he wouldve basically just been coming off a loss also.

I just dont get how Floyd gets ripped for not fighting guys who admit that they turned him down? Then I also dont get how guys like Hatton talk trash after Floyd leaves and says things like "people must understand that I am the champ at 140". How do you figure? Just because you beat Tszyu? Floyd is the guy recognized as #4# the best in the sport, won every fight at 140, asked to fight you many times and you said wait but you can claim your the best and your the champ after he leaves?

Then tell me who was ducking Margarito? Margarito was a nobody when guys like Shane and Vernon were dominating 147. Then he comes along after Mayorga KO's Forrest and demands for Mayorga to fight him and when Mayorga doesnt then people say they are ducking him? How is Mayorga ducking him when he had already signed a big money fight with Shane and King gave him alot to fight Spinks? Then King had Spinks & Zab so you know that he would let them fight eachother instead of splitting money with Arum.

Its about money, fame, and bigger names. No one is ducking Margarito just because they fear him and for sure Floyd hasnt ducked him or anyone else around those divisions and if you think so then your insane. Your going to really tell me that Mayorga is scared of Margarito, Spinks who fought a crazy Mayorga is scared of Margarito, or that a street guy and super confident Judah is scared to fight Margarito? I will never buy that.

Only guy who may have ducked Margarito is Shane but that was after he was washed up and had lost a bunch of times and didnt want to fight someone dangerous like Margarito for cheap when he knew he could fight other guys just as dangerous for more money like Vargas.

I want someone to name me one fighter that Floyd didnt fight when he shouldve? Name just one. You cant name any because the guys you named will be guys that already turned him down or there promoter didnt want no part of Floyd, like Cotto

you hit the nail on the head there buddy. too man people on here rather say how when he fights better opposition that he will lose or that he don't have the power to deal with them. what they don't realize or don't want to realize is that floyd is the best in boxing now and has been the best boxing seen in a long time. he has took on every challenge and challenged every top ranked fighter "AND" after he beat that ass offered them a rematch. when you watch floyd fight your watching greatness, as for as one if not the most technical and smart fighter who ever stepped into the ring. any true boxing fan knows power is overrated, the shot you don't see is what does the most damage.

I don't post much, but I sure do read a lot here. DLT, you my friend are by far my favorite poster. You say exactly what is on my mind. I'm with you 100% so I obviously can't think of any examples.

I actually do think some fighters are avoided, but NOT because out of one fighter fearing the other. It's all about business and promoters. Do you really think Don King wants one of his cash cows to go up against a notorious KO artist who's killing folks in the ring? It's reasons like that that sometimes make it hard for fans to get good fights. But eventually, they have to fight the best after they've milked the sport for long enough to be able to risk losing.

Its very simple he never unified in any division which left many people thinking that he had unfinished buisness at lighter wieghts and its true Floyd also now adays is interested in the path of least resistance thats one reason that he fought Gatti who just happened to be the biggest payday in the divison. But ya I hear you but mayweather does not go out there and fight the best like other men have of days gone by. Regardless however I think floyd would beat all commers any he just wants to maximise his profits and boxing is a buisness first

One thing I gathered from your post is Floyd Mayweather is no Oscar Delahoya. Delahoya moved up each weight and Challenged the best, at 140 and 147 Mayweather has yet to do that.

True to a point but trust me power means alot but as for floyd your right on he gives remaches for those that are worthy of them he does not want to leave any question he is not going to rematch however people that he just steam rolled. Now however you have to go back to the guys he beat before. Like castillo and chaves and corralis because they have achieved so much more than when they faught mayweather and are now if possible once again worthy of his attention.

this is undeniably true because the names oscar has in his win collum floyd would be hard pressed to match in the amount of time left to him. Some of those move up fights he lost but he lost to the top dog in the divison. Mayweather has failed to fight the top dog granted it would have been juda if he haden't gotten ****d by Baldomier.
