    But......

It wasn't dangerous or unfair for Golovkin to demand that Ward make 164 ?

Who protects Lovekin while you sleep ?

Progrssive_Jedi: WBC wouldn't sanction it lower than 155.

      No shit, they wouldn't!?!

Look here and remember just how WBC doesn't sanction fights at lower weights for belts at upper divisions... FMJr vs Maidana II...

If 155 is middleweight, then Golovkin should just sack up and fight.
It falls within the Middleweight division, so it's middleweight. So Canelo should accept he's a MW and man up.

It's pointless arguing with you though, you're clearly incapable of simple logic and rules even when they're very clear and simple, such as what defines a weight class.

I should remind myself more often it's pointless debating with someone who has an IQ back somewhere in the double figures.

          No he does not.

          He fights JMW's at 155.

He is unprofessional..... but that does not make him a middleweight !

You need to understand about weight.

Team Golovkin are well-aware that Canelo will be a much better fighter if he is given time to undertake full training camps that are designed to prepare him for 160.

            That is simply flawed logic.

Its about the weight and preparation.

So, when Garcia fought Peterson at 141 they both became welterweights ?

Boxing is not a maths game.

It's not a maths game, but it surely has numbers that apply the rules, such as weight limits.

And Garcia v Peterson is a one-off fight. Canelo consistently fights within the Middleweight division above 154 for 2 years. It gets to a point where you have to admit you're not 154 anymore. I think 4 fights above that weight makes that point.

Come on man, you have been fighting within the Middleweight limits (155-160) for 4 fights when you include this fight. You sir, are a middleweight. Time to admit it.

You don't have to be exactly 160 to be a MW. All you have to do is fall between 155-160 which he has done now for 2 years.

It's like saying Manny v Floyd wasn't a welterweight fight because neither weighed in at 147. They still weighed in between 141-147, hence it was a welterweight fight.

Fighters these days annoy me, it's never been a problem throughout the history of the sport to have a few pounds weight difference.
I know it's absolutely pathetic and people have the nerve to say they could compete with the robinsons,Leonard's and durans of this world....I hope golovkin at least will bring stability and make the 160 belt his own

Knowing now that Canelo has no interest in fighting GGG or moving his way into the proper middleweight division... it takes a little bit of luster off of this big ass fight. Still hype to see it but it just sucks to know it isn't leading into anything.

Cotto is one thing, but Canelo is young and he's a big kid who I feel really belongs in the MW division. He's overprotected. But we already knew that I guess.

I'm sure youve brought this ******ed logic up before

It doesnt matter if Peterson/Garcia were welterweights or not. We now know both are, they both struggled to make 140 and have sinced moved up. The point was that they fought at welterweight (143lb, btw)

Same with Canelo. It doesnt matter if hes a middleweight. Him fighting at 155 consistently is su****ious as hell, and like many others I dont believe he can make 154 anymore. The point is he fights at middleweight.

155-160 is middleweight. Not just 155, not just 160. 155-160. If Canelos body isnt ready for 160 then dont come in at 160, like he has been doing for 4 fights. It doesnt change the fact he fights at middleweight. Theres no reason Canelo cant come in at 155, GGG at 159 or whatever he usually does. Theyre both going to weigh the same come fight night.

Im beginning to lose respect for Canelo now. He cant make 154, but refuses to fight people in his own division, which I can only guess is down to fear of losing. So he uses his financial leverage to create his own weight class. Thats indefensible
