  • So basically, What Canelo is doing is blaming Cotto for him being part of the Middleweight championship fight hahaha

That is similar to what Pontius Pilate did in the old days "He is washing his hands" from the catchweight by stating "It was Cotto who wanted the belt on fight night at 155 NOT MEEEE " lololol

I'm not one of those who would like to see Cotto dragged into a GGG fight not even at 154, this because Cotto is smaller and less skilled than Floyd...

Again I agree. I would love to see Floyd against him at the 154 limit, using same day weigh ins. If not, no reason on Floyd's part to sacrifice for someone who brings nothing to the table.

And Garcia v Peterson is a one-off fight. Canelo consistently fights within the Middleweight division above 154 for 2 years. It gets to a point where you have to admit you're not 154 anymore. I think 4 fights above that weight makes that point.
So is Canelo's fight with Cotto at middleweight

Canelo said..... " I have no interest in middleweight ".

Canelo is doing EXACTLY what you all flamed Cotto for not doing.

And I am a Cotto fan.

Your assertion that Canelo cannot make 154 is just your opinion.

The fact is, Team Canelo say that Canelo can make 154, and ONLY they would know.

IF Canelo is killing himself to make 155, Cotto will find out.

If Canelo can make 155 and be healthy for 12 rounds against Cotto, then I have no reason to doubt team Canelo when they say that he can make 154.

Lets wait and see..... you could be right, but if you have followed Canelo you would know that his team do try to manage him very carefully. If the Cotto fight goes the distance we will know.

It doesnt matter if Peterson/Garcia were welterweights or not. We now know both are, they both struggled to make 140 and have sinced moved up. The point was that they fought at welterweight (143lb, btw)

Same with Canelo. It doesnt matter if hes a middleweight. Him fighting at 155 consistently is su****ious as hell, and like many others I dont believe he can make 154 anymore. The point is he fights at middleweight.

155-160 is middleweight. Not just 155, not just 160. 155-160. If Canelos body isnt ready for 160 then dont come in at 160, like he has been doing for 4 fights. It doesnt change the fact he fights at middleweight. Theres no reason Canelo cant come in at 155, GGG at 159 or whatever he usually does. Theyre both going to weigh the same come fight night.

Im beginning to lose respect for Canelo now. He cant make 154, but refuses to fight people in his own division, which I can only guess is down to fear of losing. So he uses his financial leverage to create his own weight class. Thats indefensible
Your " guess " is noted

            Lets wait and see.....

Detective Cotto is about to investigate, he will let us know veeeery soon

The middleweight division is 154.1 to 160.

              NOT 154.1 to 155

Middleweight fighters should have the right to come in at any weight within the range
I agree OnePunch, but we all understand the reasoning behind a catchweight, and we can all see that cw's are being abused nowadays.

The thing is, Canelo is not a middleweight, he is a JMW who chooses to fight other JMW's at 155, because of entitlement.

It is fkn unprofessional..... but that does not make him a middleweight.

Team Golovkin are well-aware that Canelo will be much stronger if we were to undertake full training camps designed to prepare him for 160.

I am sure that you are also aware of that.

It is what it is, and apparently in this day-and-age, the "A-side" gets to make the rules..... Golovkin knows all about that.

Not my fault, or my problem..... I think cw's should be completely abolished.

              • Can Golovkin beat Canelo at 155, or not ?

                He said he could.

Damn, Floyd must be the sorriest unified lineal paper champ ever if he needs an illegal clause like same day weighin to face a hypejob dropping a full division

                    • The only way to right Cottos wrongdoing is for Canelo to drop that belt on the spot. Then call out Ggg at 155, if he can still make it
