I think Canelo needs to be the one to dare to be great in this situation, if he wins he will have a middleweight title and id like to see him defend it at the middleweight limit, especially since after this fight he will have had 4 fights in a row at 155 lbs and weighs in over 170 lbs on fight night.

GGG may very well beat him at 155 but the point is he shouldn't have to in this situation. I like Canelo and GGG I just think Canelo's wrong this time.

If he makes 154, and is healthy for 12 rounds, wont that prove you wrong ?

Two guys from two different weight classes, for a non-title fight, is the very thing a CW makes sense for.

Canelo is fighting in the MW division, he doesn't want to admit it.

If GGG wins the SMW lineal, but demands Ward come down to 161 to fight for it, then these two situations would mirror each other.

Why no 159 for cotto vs GGG. Why hesitation when his name was mentioned in his kellerman interview after he dried out geale.

Indeed, and they're a bunch of mouthy hypocrites making claims to sound brave, then falling back to all kinds of rigid stipulations come fight time. Like playground bullies that talk real loud until someone stands up to them, then suddenly they hear their mom calling.

Yeah i'm sure Golovkin and his team said they were only going to fight at 168 for money fights like Chavez Jr and Froch who had the IBF title. There is no difference here, Canelo wanting to fight Cotto for money and a title, but not intending to stay there. It was defended by GGG fans when he wanted to just fight Froch for the IBF title because of the sole purpose that it was a money fight. No difference.
