If he actually makes the HBO deal, just before the Kovalev fight he'll make some ludicrous monetary demand (because he's Andre coWard) knowing that it won't be met, then retire claiming he's being treated unfair.


For someone who's supposed to be the best lbs/lbs fighter in the world, why the hell does he insist on fighting a 23 year old unproven Australian kid? It's almost as if he's going out of his way to pick really easy fights. Jesus, what happened to Porky Medina or Perriban?!! Those guys at least had the experience to fight back some.

I would hope he gets better competition in sparring, so hows Murdock/Dunn/Augustema help him shake the rust? He's just padding the bank account so he can quit before Kovalev. Andre coWard doesn't want to be a fighter anymore, if he did he would've had his 3 tune-up fights over already.

As I said in Tunney's thread about this, good. Fight was horse shit.

The NSAC let Julio Cesar Chavez Sr. fight a 1-15 opponent in his 50th fight, back in 1986.

So I'm not really ready to give them an atta boy over this.

That's an unfair comparison. NSAC is an ever-changing organization of characters - many positions have since been filled by different people. And in this social media world surely there's different standards being applied based on an easier access to information. Besides, I think this decision has more to do with recent events, after Colon and Zerafa, NSAC may just be taking more precaution, nothing wrong with that. It wasn't a good fight anyhow.

Yeah both those fights should have been shunned, you don't want these young kids getting hurt just because the guy who has bigger plans wants to tune up on beating crap out of some unexperienced, mismatched opponent.

Andre Ward is a joke in boxing. A soft off white pug who fights once every 5 years or so but does little in the ring. Ward has lost $10 million or so because of over inflating Ward's value in boxing which is nothing. Ward has no fans-Fights dull-Is boring-Takes no risks and fans hate Ward in America. HBO doesn't want the uncle Tom Ward who will fight over the next decade maybe 3 times against bums. Ward is a joke. America has turned it's back on the boring faker fraud Andre Ward. GOOD. Berto was an actual ranked contender with championship level experience. As ****ty as Berto was, he's been in big fights and isn't some kid with no experience. There are amateur fighters with better experience than this Murdock kid and yet it's ok for him to face the so-called lbs/lbs best?

Fights like Salka and Zerafa are worse than journeyman level fighters. They're not only much lesser skilled than their opponent, they also lack the experience to defend themselves.

rohan murdock: fights in the division below ward, has never fought out of australia, is not even the best australian fighter in his division, has only beaten one former titlist or opponent of any note - manny siaca, who won a split decision over anthony mundine back in 2004
